JOB DUTIES
I was the chairside assistant to the doctors i worked for during most of my work day. I also would help out at the front desk. Later on after I became a little older adn very experienced in working with the patients on the financial end of the practice, I seemed to be able to excel in this area and had a great connection with the patients here. I truly enjoyed the insurance and financial duties and I was able to assist the patients at the front desk with my knowledge and experience and therefore it also helped the practice run smoothly and effciently. I made all calls and contacted the patients, insurance contacts, billing for both the patients and the office, payroll, maintained all office equipment at front desk, set up all continueing education classes, filing and scheduling.
When I worked for the chiropractor, I was crossed trained as well and assisted in the back with the patients in their physical therapy. In this position, I was head of the insurance department. I made all contacts with the insurances to confirm benefits and address issues that came up with the insurance companies and or claims. We did a lot of Medicaid, Medicare and Workman's Comp.
PERSONAL QUALITIES
I went to dental assisting school right out of high school. I knew then I truly wanted to be in the healthcare profession. I have always enjoyed helping people and I am very good at it. I feel with my experience I can be a great benefit to any office in the healthcare profession. I give my all at my job and that is because I want to be there. I do not just want a paycheck, I want to love my job and give people the kindness and caring that they deserve. I pride myself on my ability to be able to sooth patients fears and they will know I care. Bottom line is I do love working with patients and having them leave with a smile on their face. It may be crooked because they are numb, but they will be smiling!
