Served two terms in acclaimed National Service program. Tutored students in two inner city Atlanta elementary schools, and completed over 200 hours of community volunteering at food pantries and Saturday school programs within the elementary schools. Mentored other AmeriCorps members. Attended group trainings.

MOOSEHEART SCHOOL- MOOSEHEART, ILLINOIS

MAY 2010- JULY 2013

Live in Family Teacher in a house of elementary and then middle and high school boys. Implemented the Mooseheart model of care. Took youth to school, cooked meals, created schedules and planned activities for youth. Completed weekly and monthly reports documenting the youth’s progress. Certified in CPI training as well as CPR training.

Provided one on one instruction/assistance to severe emotionally, abused, intellectually disabled, and behaviorally challenged students, aged 9-22. Reinforcing instruction as directed by the teacher. Assisted in overseeing students’ activities; monitored and maintained student’s behavior. Led groups such as social skills, ager management, self-esteem, community and relaxation groups.

CAMELOT EDUCATION- Naperville, Illinois January 2015-Present

Classroom Counselor. Assists with various tasks to adolescents ages 14-21 diagnosed with emotional and/or behavioral disorders. Function as a team member to implement treatment plans, including behavior modification, therapeutic intervention, group counseling, and psychoeducation. Monitor progress of treatment plan goals. Lead team building activites. Communicate with parents and districts as needed. Certified in TCI training.
