Plant Manager & Operations Director
Provide operational and lean manufacturing expertise to upright manufacturing and ensure compliancy to FDA, USDA and OSHA.
Turnaround and Revitalization:
• Led the successful turnaround of a distressed flag ship plant over an eight period hiring and training new staff and employees while developing a Kaizen culture. Ultimately reduced production from 7 to 5 days and increased kilograms per man hour by 77%.
• Executed power industrial truck and traffic flow study resulting in reduction of equipment and a $92,000 savings.
• Achieved FSSC 22000 (ISO) with no majors marked as “best in plant history” by Dr. Yi Wu, R&D formulator.
Brown’s Dairy Contractor, New Orleans, LA 2016 – 2017 Dairy company divided manufacturing from cold storage and moved operations one year prior to cold storage transition.
Contracted Financial Project Manager
Scope of work included improve of company’s financial performance and plan/direct cold storage relocation.
• Speer headed monthly financial loss through process value stream streaming and financial report analysis. Reduced Over/Under financial loss by $267K monthly in 5 months.
• Improved cold storage yield by $102K per month. Created and implemented Inventory Standard Operating Procedures. Mentored and taught supervisors and leads using Kanban card system and tight inventory controls including visual management and lean methods.
• Created and wrote full project plan and executed transition completing project in corporate’s allotted time. Project scope, plan and execution included hiring labor, operate from two coolers consecutively, purchase equipment, plan satellite delivery / logistics transition, engage and update stakeholders, manage budget, research, select and introduce warehouse management platform and manage handover.
