Summary

I have 36 years of experience in the telecommunication field. I have worked as level 3 support in a large voice mail network services company. I have also managed a Network Operation Center that monitored installed voice and network systems. Currently I am maintaining VOIP and calling card equipment as well as Collaboration software, and network equipment in a data center that I designed.

Experience

Sep 1997 – Current System Integration Engineer Pulsar Inc. Dallas, TX

Pulsar Inc. develops turnkey platforms for calling card and conferencing

solutions, using class 4 softswitches. They also have data centers that offer

these solutions as a service.

Wrote all coding for the IVR component of a project called WavPort for voice activated interface to the local network exchange. Patents 6853714, and 8923499

Wrote interface code on a voice switching and IVR platform for carrier grade phone card applications.

Handled all Oracle PL/SQL functions and stored procedures for phone card and web conferencing applications.

Handled all debugging and adding features in Cake PHP and JavaScript for creation of a web based conferencing platform

Installed equipment in many different colocation centers, as well as building out 6 data centers for different service and customer sites.

Moved from Full Time to Contract due to a new company outsourcing direction (3/15/2018)

• I now Handle all Oracle DBA functions for The calling card platform, as well as all functional changes to the application. This is all done remotely, with some site visits for hardware problems.

Oct 1994 – Sep 1997 Technical Service Engineer Octel Network Services Dallas, TX

ONS owned various data centers around the United States to handle Voicemail

and voicemail messaging for all the Ameritech States, and many other large

Multi-state companies. They had a Network Operation Center in Dallas.

Supplied level 3 technical support to the field technicians

Traveled extensively to handle upgrades, installations, load balances and major service interruptions in the field offices, and client locations.

Maintained alarm reporting systems for the Network Operations Center, by updating alarm monitoring software, and writing scripts to check on network connectivity.

Managed technicians doing alarm monitoring on three shifts. Handled all deep night problems in order to keep overtime to a minimum.

Took over the Alarm monitoring software from engineering, for upgrades and maintenance. Wrote new applications for new machines added to the network.

Wrote procedures for all service events for ISO 9000 compliance.

Worked in the UK (Fleet, London) for 6 weeks to help convert BT from legacy VMX and Magellan technology to the latest release of VMX hardware and software solutions.

Sep 1983 – Oct 1994 Technician/Programmer Pulsar Communications Inc. Dallas, TX

Pulsar Communications at this time was an interconnect phone company that handled small key systems and larger PBX systems. They both installed and managed them. I joined from college to help them move into more software driven platforms, such as automated attendants and call center equipment.

Handled Mitel PBX systems and various Key Systems.

Handled Dytel call processing systems. These systems were connected to PBX and Central Office equipment, to handle interactive messaging.

Handled Call Center software such as predictive dialers, automated queuing, and voice recording.

Worked with EDS (Transportation System Group) to develop a communication system for OTR drivers, based off their VISA credit cards. Used to secure the truckers location (before GPS) and allow free phone calls for truckers. This involved creating software for a softswitch (Excel), programming IVR products and creating Interface software for the EDS (TSG) computer array.
