Identified that rack rows in the DC need to be contained for better airflow

equipment but that was not then populated as yet this resulted that a

quarter of the CRAC's could be switched off in order to conserve energy.

Setup Maintenance contracts with 3rd party suppliers after the warranty

period on the Capital equipment expired.

2012

Closed down Centurion Data Centre as well as the DR Data Centres in Cape

Town and Port Elizabeth to reduce rental cost and cut down on maintenance

expenditure.

2013

Had an obsolete underground diesel tank (14 000L) removed and a proper pump

house build over the current underground tanks. Also had a proper spill

catchment area build at the filling point of River club DC. Also did some

civil upgrades to bathrooms, entrance steps, disabled parking and the

replacement of all geysers with heat pumps in order to get better power

efficiencies at River club.

2014

Had an H&S compliant fall arrest system installed on River club's roof.

Started the project to remove the old water cooled chillers and replace

them with air-cooled chillers for better energy efficiencies and a massive

Samrand in order to enhance the humidity control which in turn enabled the

installation of VDS'S (Variable speed drives) on the CRAC's which meant the

supply temp to the CRAC could be raised considerably to bring about Energy

efficiencies.

Where asked by EPI to assist in setting up a model DCOS (Data Centre

Operating Standards Document)
