Apogee Lighting – Assistant Quality Manager- (Feb.2018-April 2019)

Supporting the ISO requirements for Quality, auditing in process manufacturing of sheet metal fabrication. Approving first piece inspections and general practices. Creating work flow charts and reporting all non-conformances for management review. Oversaw safety and facilities maintenance/ improvements. Maintained equipment calibration.

JAAB Precision, Inc. – Quality Representative – (Oct. 2016-June 2017)

Primarily responsible for the certification of the organization transitioning from ISO 9001 to AS9100. Amending and institute procedures and reports to meet upgraded standards. Successfully completing the assessment audits and requirements set forth. Other tasks were creating FAI reports, in process and final inspections of sheet metal fabricated goods, calibration of measuring devices, lot controlled items and supplier/ vendor quality. Functions included Non Conformance reporting internally and external including on time delivery tracking.

GE Aviation – Quality Specialist –(2013-2016)

Creating AS9102 documentation for customer approval (Lockheed / Boeing) and certification. Task involves drawing, Bill of material proofreading, certificate conformance analysis and dimensional verification to specifications. Reviewing with customer(s) directly for first article, FAI, approval. Position also required review of AS9100 standards and practices making suggested changes to meet current function requirements, various document management tasks and retention. Air Industries Machining Corp.-Program Manager-(2008-2010)

Providing aircraft components whose customers include Boeing, Sikorsky & Northrop-Grumman with defense and commercial applications. Responsibilities include purchasing, facility expediting and logistics, cost control, sub-contract processing and direct customer contact; reporting schedule and product progress through both internal and sub contracted activities.

Slant/Fin Corp – Senior Buyer/Planner -(2006- 2008)

Included the structuring of MRP for their CMS software, executing purchases and planning to forecast and unplanned demand. Tasks included reporting customer deliveries to sales and expediting shortfalls. Products experienced a lead time greater than 6-8 weeks due to their import status from Germany, Taiwan and Israel which often caused delays to customers. Using learned logistics practices, trends and weighing the elements of usage and the poor lead-time was able to negotiate and stabilize and achieve profitable inventory levels and reduce turn time 50%. Developed schedules with vendors to prevent shortfalls and allowed quicker recovery within the supply chain, reducing shortages 75%.

Parker Hannifin - Program Administrator Specialist-(2004-2006)

Supporting new program development tasks where ground building start-up procedures such as creating and maintaining bills of material for a variety of applications from PCB’s to final end item goods. Scheduling, manufacturing and testing timelines with program management and customers. Material planning and close ties with procurement were mandated. Upon suspension of certain programs of which I was involved; I was reassigned to monitor and support the FAA repair work cell. Expectations from the corporate sales organization were to establish return lead time to 15 days or less. Upon my transfer turn time was 23 days and in fewer than six months of reporting and monitoring material flow and adding procurement support was able to reduce to 13.4 days. This process required status and provisioning materials based on return history, adjusting as needed and providing direct facts to purchasing for attainment. Other requirements were maintaining repair routing and logistics, maintaining promise return dates to customers, preparation for shipment documentation (C of C, Product repair data, Shipping and Invoicing) along with monthly material audits of work orders and floor stock inventory materials. Each task was achieved with first hand, constant, direct involvement with Sales, Manufacturing, Purchasing and Operations

General Dynamics- ATP Production Specialist- (2003- 2004)

Working at two facilities in Glen Cove, N.Y. and Marion, VA. as Production Planner/Specialist my duties were focused around the marine / aircraft composites / fiberglass operations. Supplying all materials, government and customer furnished material and /or directly purchased goods for general usage on the plant floor. Working hands on with fabrication of aircraft wing assemblies, procuring raw sheet metal and subcontracting external processes such as heat treating and bending. Other related tasks were process and equipment improvements, communicating openly with Engineering, Contracts and our customers. Special attention to inventory and maintenance of bonded stores, date code sensitive materials (paint, adhesives & epoxy) and reporting daily production progress and issues direct to senior management.

Parker Hannifin - Coordinator/ Expeditor- (2002 - 2003)

Assisting the Master Scheduler and Sr. Planner executing weekly / monthly production of commercial and military aircraft fuel systems. The general work environment centered around a JIT/LEAN manufacturing technique-using MRP for limited forecasting purposes. Tasks include servicing on floor stock and point of use inventories, kit releases, bi-monthly inventory audits, shipment & receipt of outside assembly processes also monitoring/reporting all work area flow. Interface with Inspection / Shipping / Receiving / Purchasing as needed as well as other planning groups within the facility; PCB assembly & Machine Shop. I was responsible for developing a new floor kit staging area reducing kit release time in half and creating shared EXCEL files to eliminate unnecessary calls for status between work areas.

LNY Services, Inc. - Production/Manufacturing Manager (2001-2002)

A wide variety of tasks and obligations were covered in this most challenging position. Among them were maintaining a totally flexible shop which upon requests could change it’s focus from day to day or hour to hour to meet customers expectations. Some of the services offered by this small business involve PCB rework and manufacturing, kit or product packaging, tape and reel, harness and cable assembly, customer warehousing, small product assembly & remarking / labeling for retail. The scope of this position was as wide as the products or customers it handled. Purchasing on demand using customer sources or other solutions was a standard. MRP was used at a minimum due to the short turn of items that were primarily consigned. Production planning was based on JIT and managed on the floor with a minimal staff. Warehouse facility was generally low dollar with a few higher dollar items that again were on consignment from the customer. Customers included Symbol Technologies, Brookhaven Labs, Canon, Nikon, Olympus & Veeco Instruments. Other duties included computer systems support, hardware and internal software support and shipping / receiving supervisor.

Symbol Technologies, Inc. - Buyer (1989 – 2001)

Responsible for the quotation and entire purchasing process for all software, labels, manuals, and all royalty fees as well as various printed material to satisfy all MRP and MPS requirements of the global facilities for all existing products and new product design programs. I have had extensive training in and used SAP on a daily basis and participated in ongoing training classes in SAP for several years. Daily functions as a Buyer include the input of all Purchase orders and Scheduling Agreements for the software and printed commodities, scheduling all releases and daily reviews with vendors to ensure on time delivery while keeping inventory levels at the minimum allowable levels to support manufacturing needs and sales order spares requirements. I achieved two years of cost savings of better than 10+ percent annually. Responsible for monitoring material receipts to assist in the disposition of discrepant material receipts, resolve MRB issues and to assist in the disposition of supplier invoice issues including verifying their accuracy before payment is issued. Using JIT/MRP practices kept inventory at a minimum. Reviewed supplier WIP reports to track deliveries and ensure FIFO requirements were met.

Took responsibility of generating ECN’s to specifications relating to commodities under my supervision for strict compliance with ISO requirements.

Prior to my responsibilities as a buyer, functioned as a Manufacturing Planner/Scheduler for large printed circuit boards for Symbol’s manufacturing facility (10,000 units daily) to maintain continuous flow of production. Charting and analyzing affectivities were also monitored throughout all processes. I have participated in successfully turning a medium sized manufacturing facility into an ISO9000 certified operation, increasing our quality and production capabilities from 5,000 PCB assemblies per week to 15,000 per day & have also attended APICS seminars and Oliver Wright training courses.
