I worked in the legal field for over 30 years.
I worked for a Philadelphia defense law firm for Travelers Insurance Company,
I worked with three attorneys and helped managed the Philadelphia Office.
Some of the duties for the office were ordering supplies, maintaining the calendar for the conference rooms which are used for all staff counsel in Pennsylvania for depositions and meetings, maintaining the postage meter i.e. ordering supplies and postage. I helped the claim department with their question about billing, dockets and status on matters in our office.
I worked with all new hires in the Philadelphia Office, ie. Secretaries and Attorneys. I have trained them on the computer system and office procedures.
I prepared pleadings, discovery, motions, complaints and other legal documents associated with civil litigation in all counties for the State of Pennsylvania and the Third Circuit Court for the State of New Jersey. I was also a backup for the Worker’s Compensation Court (WCIAS System).
Additional duties included: filing court documents, maintaining attorneys' calendars, opening/closing files, scheduling depositions/independent medical examinations for my attorneys.
