B.tech project: Removal of heavy metals using activated induction furnace slag
Project Aim: To adsorb the hexavalent chromium using activated induction furnace slag and to remove the highly toxic hexavalent chromium heavy metal from the industrial waste water.

The activated induction furnace slag can be used for the effective removal of heavy metal hexavalent chromium in the industrial waste water.

Trainings Attended
Undergone internships at CetexPetrochemicals limited, chennai.
Introduction:
Cetex petrochemicals limited is the only manufacturer of methyl ethyl ketone and secondary butyl alcohol in south east asia. I have done internship for five days in cetex petrochemicals limited.
Learnings:
I have learned regarding the process, safety, instrumentation and control system during the production of secondary butyl alcohol and methyl ethyl ketone. I have also learned the how the byproducts like LPG are separated and stored. It is a continuous running plant so the engineers are working on day and night shifts, normally the plant is operated with 10 operators. Finally the outcome product sample is tested in the laboratory and its quality is verified.

Introduction:
Sim infosystems delivers various simulation projects to refineries, petrochemical units, and gas separation plants all around the world. I have completed simulation workshop on process fundamentals for five days in sim infosystems.
Learning’s:
During the workshop i tried simulation on various process like distillation column where i learned to increase the product purity, liquid product level, vapor product level. I successfully cold started the distillation column and furnace etc. With various conditions applied tried various equipments and learned cold starting.
