TITLE : DESIGN AND COMPUTATIONAL FLUID DYNAMIC ANALYSIS OF PROPELLER SHAFT

Description: In our project we have designed a propeller shaft used in ships using Unigraphics NX software and it is imported into Ansys-CFD for generating mesh and applying boundary conditions. Calculated velocity value is given as input to propeller shaft turbine and observed pressure values in CFD software. From CFD analysis results maximum fluid pressure formed on propeller shaft is 1778PA and yield strength of aluminum is 300MPA.So fluid pressures formed is less than yield strength of aluminum, so designed propeller shaft is in safe condition at the applied inlet flow velocity.
