KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

-Rebuild CAT 140G, 140H, 16H, and 24M, Graders

-Repair and maintain 993B dump truck

-Assemble, repair and Fitting of components on 650 and 660 Caterpillar shovels

-Servicing, installation and stripping of differentials, wheel stations, suspension cylinders and assembling to CAT standards and specifications and compiling of the failure reports of components

-Pre-delivery inspections on new CAT machines

-Work under the CAT contaminations control systems

-The use of CAT service information system and machine downloads with the use of CAT ET and VIMS

-Training local mechanics and apprentices

-Meet customers on a daily basis to ensure customer satisfaction and provide support

-Follow safety standards during and after repair and services of all equipments

BARRICK GOLD LUMWANA MINE

•From 1st July 2013 up to 22 July, I was working for Lumwana Mine a mine run by Barrick Gold Corporation Zambia as an artisan mechanic under maintenance department both in the workshop and in the Field.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

•Washing machines before and after the service and/or repairs

•Taking fluid samples and observing all precautions that may cause contamination while and after sample collection.

•Servicing mine fleet according to interval (250hrs, 500hrs, 750hrs, 1000hrs and 2000hrs)

•Cutting filter elements to check the wear pattern

•Shot services while in the field of operations

•Preventive maintenance

•Repairing various break downs

•Inspecting, identifying and preventing developing faults

•Component change outs i.e. Engines, Transmissions, track frames (Dozer), Radiators/Radiator cores, implement cylinders, Turbo chargers, Injectors, Brake groups, circle drives(graders), Tandems, travel control lever change outs etc.

•Valve clearance adjustments on various CAT engines, i.e. C13, C15, C27, C32.
