Recruit research participants through community and targeted ad campaigns

Schedule study appointments: manage the shared laboratory calendar and coordinate the schedules of graduate students, psychologists, nurses, laboratory technicians, and undergraduate research assistants and book the appropriate personnel and facilities for each appointment

Conduct semi-structured psychiatric interviews to assess past and ongoing mental health issues

Data entry, management, and analysis in Excel and SPSS; merge data from external modules (blood pressure and heart rate monitors, blood and saliva assays, online survey software)

Prepare all study documents and materials (protocols, scripts, consent forms, questionnaires, biological specimen collection kits)

Ensure and maintain the confidentiality of participant information, maintain the secure laboratory wide server, manage user accounts and access

Randomization of participants for two randomized controlled trials

Prepare domestic and international shipments of biological samples for analysis, file relevant paperwork for customs when applicable

Submit and ensure timely renewal of internal and external ethics documentation

Assist with preparation of new study protocols, funding applications and manuscripts

Manage and supervise a team of 10-15 undergraduate research assistants; recruit and interview new applicants, train each on assigned tasks, create and manage RA schedules, ensure RA productivity and oversee completion of assigned responsibilities

Recruit and interview laboratory employees (nurses, laboratory technicians) and coordinate relevant training

File paperwork and contracts for new hires and casual employees, file and process timesheets, liaise with Human Resources and Payroll to ensure timely employee compensation; file contract changes or notices of termination

Manage laboratory purchasing card, including reconciliation of purchasing statements and grant account balances using Millennium Finance Reporting

Liaise with Accounts Payable department to ensure payment of all invoices from external vendors and service providers

Maintain working relationships with vendors for purchasing chemical supplies and laboratory equipment; place orders for all supplies, equipment, software 2013-2015 RESEARCH ASSISTANT - Family Well-Being Project (Drs. Erin Barker & Jean-Philippe Gouin)
