Profile I am a dedicated, self-motivated business professional with over 25 + years of knowledge and expertise in polyurethane production and development with nearly 20 years’ experience as a Production Manager. I am trained, certified and highly skilled in the operation of a multitude of foam production equipment: the Varimax machine, Traverse machine, Round Ether machine, Round Ester machine, Verti-foam machine, new V.P.F. (vacuum pressure machine) and the C 02 Process machine.

The first 8 years of my career was spent learning basic foam formulating and troubleshooting both polyethene and polyester foams, color matching, and silicone usage, blowing agents, CO2 and Acetate (Acetone).

WORK EXPERIENCE

2011 –2014 – PREMIER FOAM – Newnan, GA

Production Manager/Foam Chemist

This was a start-up company. I independently reorganized and restructured production and pour lines, using totally new formulations and pump lines. Facilitated training of personnel, implemented plans and procedures while constantly seeking means of improvement and being budget conscious. In less than 2 years, established a quality of foam that can compete with anyone in the industry. Managed team of 10.

2002-2011 FLEXIBLE FOAM Terrell, TX

Production Manager/Foam Chemist

Duties include chemically adjusting old formulations and developing new foam types. Responsible for procuring technical data updates for all foaming equipment and maintaining hands-on operation of the same; maintaining proper/adequate levels of chemical inventory and ordering of materials needed for production, accomplished through interaction/contact with a multitude of sales representatives to determine quality of product and ability to supply the company’s demand. Supervised and directed a nine member crew. Responsible for training crew members and the Associate Operator in specialized procedures for pouring foam, and to make the proper changes/adjustments in the chemical formula, when necessary or appropriate. Travel and provide technical assistance and troubleshooting expertise to company plants located in other states to include Washington State, North Carolina and Mississippi.

1995-2002 FOAMEX INTERNATIONAL Cornelius, NC

Production Manager/Foam Chemist

Duties included chemically adjusting old formulations and developing new foam types and the hands-on operation of several different foam machines. Supervised a seven member crew and maintained chemical inventory to guarantee continuous uninterrupted production.

1989-1995 CRAIN INDUSTRIES Conover, NC

Assistant Foam Chemist-Safety Director

Assisted the Foam Chemist in chemically adjusting old formulations and the development of new foam types. Operated foam equipment/machines and assisted in the supervision of a foam crew. As Safety Director, was responsible for inspecting the plant for safety hazards maintaining safety data sheets and training the company’s Hazardous Materials Team.

1972-1989 FOAMEX L.P. (formerly REEVES BROTHERS INC.) Cornelius, NC

Foam Department Supervisor

Responsible for the operation and supervision of the Flat Ether Varimax machine, pouring of flat polyether and polyester on the same machine and operating the Round Block Polyether-Polyester machine.

Foreman: Promotion

Responsible for direct hands-on preparation of Round Block Polyether-Polyester

machine for the production of foam. Directed and supervised the work load of a six

man crew.

Lab Assistant: Promotion

Duties included troubleshooting chemicals for use in foam production and the testing of incoming chemicals for quality. Aided in the chemical development of new formulations and adjusted old ones.
