Cover letter

I'm looking for pharmacy intern or pharmacist position available currently. My background and skills in retail community such as CVS, Walgreens and institutional pharmacy plus medical diagnostic laboratory will prove to be an effective match for your qualifications.

I had worked in a pharmacy at a DotHouse Health community health center in Dorchester and CVS pharmacy in Quincy, Massachusetts for 2 years before I have gone to school for my PharmD degree. My pharmacy experiences are obtained from doing pharmacy school rotations with a variety of pharmacy fields such as critical care, internal medicine, ambulatory care, CVS, Hannaford. While I was in pharmacy school, I had a good GPA and academic standing. The pharmacy rotations and work experiences offer me a lot of opportunities to get skills for typing prescriptions, knowing almost all drug indications, doses, and diagnostic tests. I like to work with many pharmacists, medical doctors and medical students during my rotations in the past year. I am a team player, pleasant, professional attitude. I also can work hard independently, attention to detail, organize.

A few years ago, I graduated with a bachelor degree in Biochemistry in June 2011 at University of Massachusetts Boston. My work-study job was set up, reset and breakdown of biochemistry laboratory experiments by preparing chemical solution, buffer culture media, E. Coli culture and transferred stock of flies and crickets. I have taken courses in Molecular Biology techniques such as DNA, RNA isolation, DNA sequences PCR, Gel Electrophoresis and Biochemical techniques such as blood grouping, Southern, Northern and Western Blotting, GC-MS technique, Size Exclusion column, Affinity Column, Spectrophotometer, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance, Electron Spin Resonance, Fluorescence, Combinational Chemistry, Bioinformatics.

After I graduated from UMASS, I worked as a medical pathology technician in a community health center in Dorchester, Massachusetts to perform diagnostic tests such as rapid strep, rapid flu, urinalysis, anticoagulant tests, HA1C, BMP, CMB, CBC. While I was on pharmacy rotation, I can understand more medical diagnostic interpretation by getting involved in meetings with medical students such as morning report, research about treatment and diagnosis in the hospital and discuss patient cases in the intensive care units and internal medicine on a daily basis.

Thus, my accompanying resume and cover letter are for your consideration. More information about me is I came to America when I was 20 years old as a student. I did work study for biology department as a biochemistry lab assistant at Umass Boston. My dad is used to server American army during Vietnam’s war as a barber. My mom is a housewife and does gardening. My parents are living in SaiGon city, Vietnam and they want to move to the United States to live with me in the future. Aside from my career, I try to take a good care of my parents well. My dad’s job is a barber. My dad’s brother in-law worked for American government in the South Vietnam. My grandmother was a single mom who had to raise 16 children by herself by hosting opera shows. My aunt who is my dad’s sister lived in very poor conditions and did not have a chance to go to school, she got married to an American solder and moved to the American 20 years ago. I have a lot of relatives in Massachusetts. My cousins worked for the USA government as a social worker.
