Employment History

February 1997 – May 2014

George Ide, LLP Solicitors - Senior Legal Secretary in the Litigation Department

I worked for the senior partner from 1999 to 2015, when he retired. I specialised in Clinical Negligence, Personal Injury, Employment and Matrimonial and Family work. I dealt with the Fee Earner’s diary and communications with clients and others. General office duties including audio typing and copy typing.

I dealt with many High Court cases dealing with Courts and Solicitors and Barristers.

May 2014 – August 2015

The Secret Linen Store - Office Manager / Administrator

I went to work at Secret Linen Store, which was a brand new company, owned by a close friend. I ran the office and dealt with all customer orders and queries, postages and shipments from the factory in Portugal. I dealt with photo-shoots and general office manager roles including dealing with employee holidays and sickness. I also had dealings with the company Social Media (Twitter and Instagram) and blog posts.

I was mainly in the office on my own so had to use my own initiative and make quick decisions.

This was a very varied role. As only the third member of the team, after the two Directors, I put my hand to most parts of the business and learnt a wide skill set.

September 2015 – November 2016

George Ide, LLP Solicitors - Cover Legal Secretary – Personal Injury, Clinical Negligence and Matrimonial departments

I returned to George Ide as a cover secretary continuing with general office duties, audio typing and copy typing and writing, amending Court documents. Dealing with Courts, Solicitors and Barristers.

November 2016 – date

George Ide, LLP Solicitors – Personal Injury / Clinical Negligence Legal Secretary

I returned to work in the clinical negligence department when a vacancy became available. I worked for the head of the department organising his schedule and dealing with all aspects of his work. We had complex High Court cases and I have to deal with Barristers and other Solicitors on a daily basis along with clients. I deal with a high volume of audio dictation and prepare Court documents including Trial Bundles. I am currently working for a Senior Solicitor in the Personal Injury Department dealing with catastrophic head injury claims and high value claims.
