I am really excited to be applying for the Human Resources Intern position at DGN Technologies. I believe I have the passion and capabilities to excel in a company like yours. I am eager to join an organization for summer 2019 in a full-time position where I can contribute my skills to become a beneficial asset to the company and team, while gaining hands-on experience in Human Resources. I chose Human Resources as my major because I am a personable, detail-oriented person. I wanted to pursue a career that gave me the opportunity to work with and help people, while utilizing my diligence. I see that this position requires strong communication skills for phone calls and attention to detail, both of which are strong qualities I possess. I am an encouraging team leader and contributor but can complete tasks independently as well. My meticulous nature ensures tasks are completed accurately, but efficiently. I always take initiative to streamline tasks the best I can.

Although I am only in my second year, I have started my junior-level classes and have really pushed myself to gain as much exposure as I can into the field of Human Resources. One of the steps I took towards my goal of gaining experience was becoming the Secretary for the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) chapter at SDSU. With this position came the amazing opportunity to attend the National SHRM Conference this June. Our chapter’s founder Andy Esparza, the previous CHRO of Dell, sponsors our officers every year to attend this conference to gain professional development, specifically in HR. Additionally, as the current Human Resources Student Intern at San Diego State University’s Research Foundation (SDSURF), I have gained valuable skills and knowledge that solidified my interest in Human Resources. In my short time at SDSURF, I excelled in my role and was given the opportunity to be part of an upcoming project in the HR department because I demonstrated my capabilities, determination, and commitment.

Therefore, by the time I start an internship this summer, I will have evolved in my role as Secretary for SHRM, gained more experience at SDSURF, and have completed more relevant courses including:
