The topics included calibration failure impact analysis and traceability documentation on physical/dimensional test equipment.

Physically performed calibrations, wrote procedures and improved the skill level of technicians.

Advanced CMM Measurements Engineer

Albany Engineered Composites, Boerne, TX

December 2009 to June 2010 (contract ended)

Hired as a contractor to address measurement shortfalls discovered in customer QA audits of aerospace structural part contract compliance. 1

Corrected audit deficiencies that threatened customer accreditation.

Improved automated coordinate measuring machine (CMM) and surface plate measurements by introducing software configuration control and separating precision from accuracy goals in Gage

Repeatability and Reproducibility (GR&R) applications.

Designed and implemented calibration processes including fixtures, artifacts and transfer standards consistent with team consensus.

Corrected found measurement deficiencies involving training, documentation, ISO9001/AS9100 conformance, vendor

laboratory/supplier issues, NIST traceability, precision/standardization, accuracy, corrective actions, recall and quarantine sometimes in urgent situations.

Managed safety (MSDS, signage, LO/TO, etc.) and logistical issues

(scheduling, equipment and software substitutions) related to very specific details needed to make the results reproducible.

Senior Product Integrity Engineer

Kaiser Electronics/Rockwell Collins Display Systems, San Jose, CA May 2002 to May 2005 (promotion)

Hired to solve measurement problems related to Lab-View-based five axis CMM automated testing of a new inside the helmet tactical pilot display/human machine interface.

Increased capacity fivefold between 2002 and 2004 by making the coordinate system/datum convergent on an artifact shared by all six helmet production systems.

Found solutions for other unrelated measurement application problems.

Newport Corporation/RAM Optical Instrumentation, Irvine, CA September 1993 to July 1999

Tested and verified non-contact 2D/3D CMM system performance in an ISO9002 environment.

Explained metrology /ANS Y14.5M geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) issues and cleared corrective action requests.

Worked with the internal Chinese programming staff and customers to solve their measurement problems.

Designed and executed Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility studies using prototype and production model equipment.

Wrote and updated product operation and maintenance manuals, developed applications and built test fixtures.

Engineer 2
