I have effective communication skills, excellent man management experience linked to project management and senior supplier surveillance, a strong customer focus, and extensive Quality background coupled with hands-on and first article inspection experience with a wide variety of aerospace components.

I have worked in various roles from the shop floor through to operational and senior management, much of which has required a can-do attitude and hands on approach and liaison / guiding and management of personnel along all production levels. This has involved working with several of the prime companies IE: - Rolls-Royce, Safran, Airbus Messier Dowty, Eaton Aerospace, Alstom Power, and Mettis Aerospace, Doncaster’s, Howmet. As well as other smaller aerospace and commercial companies. I have been directly involved in training and recruitment of staff at all levels.

Career history:-

Present Employment Quality Engineer Eaton Aerospace July 2018 to Present Day.

Contract Position:- Employed to work within the manufacturing Quality Dept at Eaton Titchfeild site on current and historic ENCR’s and concessions, along with MRB daily reviews and on-going corrective action plans 8D’s / 5why & CAPA’s, FAI Review and sign off, moving forward I will be monitoring and overseeing the SPC project and conducting Internal Audits. I have recently been involved in a week long Kaizen event and PPAP training.

Senior Quality Engineer Kenard Aerospace Ltd, March 2017 to July 2018. [contract]

Contract position: - employed to assist in the daily and historical issues within the company MRB[ material review board] system using 8D and 5why investigation methods to improve Quality and processes moving forward, general quality duties including visiting suppliers in relation to quality escapes and compiling FAI reports as required within the business and assisting in internal audits. [attend a two-day course with BSI on AS9100 Rev D & ISO9001 2015 update and awareness]. Recently completed and passed an AS9100 Rev D internal Auditor course through Batalas training on-site/ class room based.

I Have also started a Six Sigma Green Belt course through L3Trl pending a week class room based and on-going online modules to follow.

Contract position: - employed to work on internal audit plan and closure of outstanding findings coupled to Easa part 145 & 21, AS9100 and ISO9001. Assistance with the inspection department on new and historic FAI’s, along with daily weekly issues as required and to create a Continues Improvement plan moving forward within Taunton Aerospace.

New Contract position: - created within Senior Aerospace with full autonomy of role to audit and document the supply chain in line with ISO9001-2015/AS9100 and Nadcap/Rolls Royce/ Airbus/Bombardier and all major Blue-chip company’s requirements, and oversight of supplier FAI’s coupled to continuous improvement throughout Senior Aerospace’s supply chain nationally and internationally. SVH Quality Inspection Services Ltd.

20-month consultancy contract based in México-Querétaro, providing technical support and training for the polishing / inspection and quality departments in Safran Messier Dowty. The scope of work involved polishing training and support of 23 operators and technical training and support for three inspectors on visual / gauged / tactile inspection of all machined components from first operation to shot peen covering the assistance in the writing of the polishing SOP’s and inspection SOP’s for the inspection processes and providing training in root cause analysis and corrective action management 8D / 5WHY, the set up / project management of a new inspection area, along with all 5s requirements.

Technical support liaising with Gloucester Safran Messier Dowty. Also Within this period I also provided technical advice and support for Messier Dowty Suzhou on titanium polishing / finishing & inspection at their plant in Suzhou China for two months.

Project Specialist/Quality Technician – Verify Europe Ltd. (SVH Inspection Services LTD)

Since joining Verify in February 2011 my first assignment was at Mettis Aerospace in Redditch; my primary focus was working on first article inspections to AS9102 format. In that time, I completed over 100 dimensional FAIs and provided the full back information.

I was also closely involved with several customer quality departments (Goodrich, BAE Brough, AEC, Meggitt, Messier Dowty) working to resolve some historic quality issues on some of the FAI components. My duties also included liaising with and meeting the customer to agree set standards for mark out and wording on drawing FAIs.

Through the alloy forge quality department, I covered CEO (customer eyes over check) and source inspection. I also worked on two new Rolls-Royce Machine parts FAIs, working with the Rolls-Royce representative covering the whole FAI pack from incoming material to despatch of parts. I have also been involved with source inspection for Meggitt and Boeing, working with their source inspectors. I have also covered source inspection on aerofoils at Mettis and deck despatch and provided assistance with general day-to-day issues within the alloy forge quality department.

My second assignment was with Marshall Aerospace in Cambridge, were I undertook source surveillance/auditing of the Boeing fuel tank build packs prior to Boeing and the MOD inspection of theses packs for any defects or miss stamping or incorrect procedures being quoted. And also assisted with FAI issues.

I was responsible for the day-to-day running of the unit, responsible for: manufacturing process improvement, lead time reduction and weekly interaction with our main customers Messier Bugatti Dowty, Rolls Royce, involving regular MPS/MRP issues and weekly capacity output. I was also responsible in the overseeing of all staff training, general management, health and safety and overseeing all inspection and first article activities to AS9102. I also assisted in the outsourcing and procurement of new business for the unit.

Blade polisher, foreman and works manager – Dynamic Profiles Ltd, Coventry

I started out as a blade polisher/fettler/linisher/blade fitter, working on such materials as titanium / nemonic / Inconel / stainless steel / aluminium / brass and copper alloys, using various hand tools, from air die grinders of all sizes and speeds, to various electric grinders and sanders as well as polishing spindles and belt linishers. Additional duties included training other employees in the use of these tools to achieve various surface finishes on commodities ranging from blades to landing gear components. I then moved into inspection of these components, using visual and gauge inspection as well shadowgraphs, and FAI both on-site and at customer premises. Finally, I moved on to become the shop foreman then the works manager, overseeing the daily running of the facility and liaising with all key customers on capacity and quality requirements, working abroad on-site for Rolls-Royce in Italy assisting and training on inspection and working on site in Sweden and France for Alstom overseeing inspection, polishing and blade fitting requirements.
