Research Experience:

Mosquito Research:

Purpose of research: Extract mosquitos DNA. To do that, I utilized the DNeasy Blood and Tissue Kit from Qiagen and followed step-by-step protocol. The mosquito was pestle in Lysis buffer, Incubated and Centrifuge. After step-by-step protocol, Extraction was later used in Sanger sequencing and PCR.

Taming the wild: Antibiotic in Wild Yeast Isolation:

Purposed of research: Determine if antibiotics would be successful in eliminating most of the bacteria while still allowing the yeast cells to grow and reproduce. To do this, I administered different antibiotic discs in several samples to create an area of inhibition of bacterial growth and to find a specific antibiotic or antibiotics that can eliminate bacteria while still allowing yeast to grow.
