I have diverse background with around 6 years of research experience and 7 years of experience as consultant physiotherapist. Till now in my career I have worked closely with physicians and research investigators. I have keenly observed and have been a part of the process that science undergoes from bench to bed side of the patient. By training I am a Physiotherapist. After completion of my graduation in physiotherapy I plasticized as a clinician for 7 years. While practicing, I developed interest in Stem Cells and its potential benefits. Being anxious to understand it better, I joined Masters in Stem Cell and Tissue Engineering and passed it with distinction and was second in university. Following this, I joined IISER Mohali as a research fellow . Here I worked in a molecular biology lab for project titled 'Role of Pten gene in Mullar glial cells in retina of zebrafish' for about an year.

Due to my deep interest clinical research I moved to InStem, NCBS for project titled ‘Stand- Alone Ayurvedic Treatment in Acute Ischaemic Stroke: A Pilot Study. This study aimed to look at the safety and outcome of stroke-patients treated with Ayurveda Vs Allopathy. As a research fellow I recruited stroke patients and collected data from them at CMC Vellore and at Shushruth hospital Puttur. The study was accepted for presentation at the International Congress on Integrative Medicine and Health (ICIMH) . My next project at InStem was a trans-disciplinary, epidemiology based observational, case control study; ‘Validation of Ayurvedic concept of Prakriti from disease susceptibility perspective’. First part of the study aimed to formulate and validate a tool for Prakriti, i.e. Ayurvedic constitution of a person, and second part comprise of constitution and medical history data collection from community and hospital settings including 170 stroke and around 200 cancer patients. Overall I collected data from about 1500 subjects. The process of data collection has been a great learning experience in itself, followed by extensive analysis of the data. Abstract from this work titled ‘Constitution (Prakriti) As Defined By Traditional Indian Medicine Is A Risk Factor for Stroke ; is selected for poster presentation at World Stroke Congress in October 2018.The paper is in process of publication. SUMMARY

In December 2017, I joined Clinical research department of Institute of Ayurveda and Integrative Medicine. Here I worked as a Senior research fellow for about 5 months in a phase 3 clinical trial. My responsibilities included time bound accomplishment of trial related formalities such as IEC approval, CTRI registration, patient recruitment for study, data collection and all study related documentation. Apart from the clinical aspect of the project I was responsible for the wet work for samples collected from the patients. I am an optimistic and disciplined person, believe in consistent hard work, dedication and always intend to learn and grow.
