S H Nadaf, General Manager (Maintenance, Head of Mech / Elec. / Inst.) - A Mechanical Engineer by profession, having around 37 Years of Experience in various types of Power plants.

Self is presently the head of the Maintenance team at PPN and has been involved from the construction stage of Phase I as a member of the construction monitoring team. Self is presently responsible for Major inspection planning/spare management/overall control on all maintenance activities, Import substitution/modifications and improvements/ finalization of maintenance contracts etc., related to the Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine and Balance of Plant maintenance activities.

The details of the other power plant experience include:

a) Hydro (Kaplan/Francis /Pelton of Turbines) total 800 MW Capacity.

b) Combined cycle of 800 MW with Oil Fired Boilers Crude handling and

Gas Turbine/ Steam Turbine.

c) Ministry of Ele. & water 488 MW Gas Turbine with Crude & Diesel GE & Siemens’

GTs

c) Coal Fired Boilers 3x210 MW

d) Involved in PPN 3 x360 MW CCPP Expansion project in Year 2011

e) Involved in R & M proposal of Morupule Power plant of BOTSWANA

Self-gained rich experience in Maintenance by working along with Germany and Japanese Experts.

Self also has worked in Doha, Qatar for 488 MW GE 9001 B, 4 x72 & Siemens’ V94.2, 2 x100 MW GTS in Budgeting and Planning the Plant outages. The improvement/retrofitting of non OEM Vanes/Nozzles carried out.

Major inspection of the gas and steam turbines, generators and balance of plant is akin to R & M in a coal plant.

Self has been a key speaker in IBC & ASIA in their conferences at Singapore and Malaysia.

Self has again been invited to speak and present a paper on “Upgrading/ modernizing and retrofitting techniques for power plants” at The Power Plant World Asia 2013, an international summit on power being held at Singapore between April 15 and 18, where over 1200 senior executives from power and energy are participating in one of six co-located conferences across six continents.

Undergone training in “Gas Turbine and Steam Turbine System” in Takasago Japan for PPN Plant

I have attended the Mitsubishi Gas Turbine 701 F Users conference in Japan USA, Spain, Singapore, UK, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore.

Carried out commissioning, Combustion Inspection, Hot Gas path parts inspection and Routine maintenance of Gas Turbine and Auxiliaries of MHI 701F machine of 230MW capacity supplied by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Japan in 330MW PPN POWER PIANT and Inspection activities of 100MW Steam Turbine

Carried out maintenance, overhauling and troubleshooting of various capacities of Steam Turbine. Conversant in preparation of System Turnover package and maintaining records.

Carried out maintenance activities of High Pressure Boiler Feed Pump, HRSG Pressure Safety Valves and isolation valves, Conversant in boiler inspection activities.

Carried out inspection and maintenance of Naphtha storage tanks. Conversant in Single Point Mooring equipment maintenance. Contract coordination, spares planning &Budget preparation. During commissioning the vibration problem with the multi stage Main Naphtha pump supplied by M/S Sulzer was independently overhauled.

Carried out maintenance activities of Desalination plant of 365m3/hr, pre treatment plant, Reverse Osmosis plant, DM plant equipments. The multi stage RO Booster Pump driven by 6.6 KV motor was commissioned. The plant designed supplied by M/s Aquatech USA.

Vital contribution made by me in the initial mobilization activities of 330 MW PPN Power Plant right from establishing workshop, Special tools & tackles for GT&ST,2years spares procurement before taking up O&M, punch list preparation, warranty claims raising to EPC etc.

Conversant in DP testing, Magnetic particle inspection, Ultrasonic testing, Radiography test, stress relieving, PSV testing, Boiler hydro testing, inspection etc. Conversant in vibration measurement & analysis for rotary equipment’s.

Conversant in preparing 5 years rolling plan, 15 years budget, every year consumption budget, procurement budget, capital budget etc. (Zero based Budget).
