I joined the Pediatrix Medical Groups Atlantic Regional Team in August 2004 in order to assist in developing the growth and management of the pediatric cardiology practices.

Initial responsibilities included the P&L management of 18 practices, (12 in Neonatology, 1 PICU and 4 Pediatric Cardiology a combined responsibility for a P&L of over $300 million.

The next 4 years I achieved both financial and practice development goals that included, implementing a succession plan for the neonatology, intensivists, neonatal nurse practitioners and the 4 Pediatric Cardiology practices.

2004/5 we acquired and integrated two neonatology practices and one pediatric cardiology.

In addition the same store growth in the pediatric cardiology practices added 8% per annum in 2005 and 2006 and 11% in 2007 with additional service lines and expanded offices and physician resources with the successful recruitment of 5 full time pediatric cardiologists.

All the Pediatric Cardiology Practice's revenues continued to increase despite challenges of physician shortages and CMS changes in reimbursement of echocardiography that we countered with improved technology and workflows.

Identified and supported the practice management and EHR, EchoPAC and wireless systems for the Pediatric Cardiologists.

These developments were instrumental in the success of the group to manage the practice functions compliantly, cost effectively with benefits for patient care, research and future growth.

Worked closely with business development (A&M) identifying projects, integrating practices and managing the human resource.

Part of the task force to reduce days in AR for the revenue cycle through year end December 2005 to an average 21 days in Pediatric cardiology and 24 days in neonatology.

The success of my contribution with pediatric cardiology gained notice and I was asked to take over the national division of pediatric cardiology, move to the corporate office and create a national pediatric cardiology group under new name "Pediatrix Cardiology".

By January 2009 Pediatrix Cardiology was the largest group of sub specialists in the World with 98 physicians.

In March 2012 the Pediatrix Cardiology Division employs 115 pediatric cardiologists, 18 practices in 9 States.

Using my strategic plan the group redesigned a unique EHR implemented in 75% of practices in 15 months.

Implemented MOC recognized CQI, IRB for clinical research, recognized advocacy with regulatory agencies at State and national level.

The group is represented on leadership committees of ACC and AAP.

Every practice was mentored into complying with ICAEL (now IAC) accreditation for echo labs.

2004-2007 pediatric cardiology practices tripled from 7-18.

To manage the new structure a cardiologist lead steering committee was elected.

Inclusive group developed with sub-committee structure so tasks could be accountable.
