Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures

Welds all types of commonly used metals and alloys of various sizes, shapes, and thicknesses,

including dissimilar metals.

Fabricating parts to the print or within tolerance.

Make decisions on how to fabricate a part or make a repair when there is no set of direction.

Perform field welding and fabrication during equipment installations or modifications.

Fabricates, joins, and/or repairs equipment, fixtures and various types of metal objects and structures

using oxygen-acetylene, electric arc, MIG and TIG welding techniques.

Operates drill presses, power saws, grinders and a variety of welding equipment and hand tools

Operate hand-welding and flame-cutting equipment such as oxyacetylene torch, electric arc

machine, and robotic welding cells

Ensure compliance with safety protocols by wearing protective gloves, masks, and boots.

Utilize braces and clamps in aligning metal components for welding

Weld components in flat, overhead or vertical positions. They clean metal materials prior to welding

to remove rust, grease, scale or other contaminants

Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements

Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to

match measurements)

Uphold all ISO and OSHA standards applicable to the responsibilities above

Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded

Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces

Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical,

horizontal or overhead)

Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps

Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws

Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety

Operate Forklift, Jig, Scissors Lift and Lull Operator, Bobcat, OSHA 10, JLG
