ACHIEVEMENT

Successfully recovered a production truncated (permanent delete) table, containing 15 lacs rows of highly sensitive data. This process which ideally would have taken 6 hrs was completed by me in 30 mins

Project 1: Migration of 10g database (non-ASM) to 11g (ASM)

Led and managed the migration of 1TB databases from Oracle 10g (non-ASM) to 11g (ASM) and the data conversion ensuring data integrity and quality

Installed and configured Oracle 11g ASM and database on over 500 servers for high availability

Configured and managed physical standby database using Data Guard for disaster recovery on a different node for different production servers.

Created a backup configuration using Oracle Recovery Manager(RMAN) and Data pump, thus ensuring the data remained secured at any point of time and cutting down the data loss by 95%

Configured and enabled Flashback thus reducing the logical damage by 90% which helped in the reduction of accidental errors

Implemented and enforced a security policy for database users. Used the Oracle Database Security Assessment Tool (DBSAT) to analyze database configurations and security policies

Project 2: Standardization and Automation of scripts

Developed an automation alert system resulting in an accurate and timely information of errors within the database, reducing turnaround time from 3 hours to 30 minutes

Developed a fraud alert system for a sensitive database that send the credentials of users who logged on to senior management thereby improving the security aspect of the Database

Developed and standardized scripts for BCP activities and Data Centre Operations resulting in the reduction of the complexity of operations and the DC Team using the same actions across all the databases

Automated a script that ran weekly for defragmentation thus reclaiming the wasted space and improving the overall performance of the database

Key Functions

Installed, configured Oracle 12c ASM and database on over 30 servers. Created Container databases (CDB) and Pluggable databases (PDB) and managed them

Tuned the performance for long running queries using AWR reports, trace, explain plan. Analyzed the existing table structures and fine-tuned if required

Forecasted the growth of database by capacity planning over monthly / yearly basis

Created a business continuity process (BCP) plan in the event of a disaster for an intermediary firm that integrated with 19 public banks, 180 private banks, handles guaranteed settlement(GS), real time gross system(RTGS) and funds settlement system(FSS)

Installed more than 20 critical patches to rectify database bugs, thus protecting the end users, organization and upholding the security aspect of the system

Generated and distributed Adherence, Audit, Security and Forecasting reports to the senior management

Implemented an auditing system which monitored the actions of users on the database
