Functional summary
In previous positions I was tasked with managing the Supply Operations Group of Electric Sourcing and Transactions (ES&T). This is a 24-hour a day operation that manages the generation assets of Consumers Energy to service our customers in the most reliable and economical manner possible and to maximize return on those assets in the wholesale energy market. Department tasks included overseeing the dispatch of Consumers Energy generation assets, buying and selling energy in the MISO Energy Market, bilateral transaction negotiation and managing a staff of 25 personnel.
A collateral duty was that of Compliance Assurance Manager. I was responsible for compliance to NERC and FERC governmental regulations for Energy Supply. I retired from Consumers Energy in 2015.
My most recent position is that of Quality Assurance at Dairy Farmers of America.

Played an instrumental part in the transition from the joint Merchant Operation at the Michigan Electric Power Coordination Center (MEPCC) in Ann Arbor to the current Consumer Energy operation in Jackson.
Retired from Consumers Energy.

Supervised the Merchant Control Staff at the MEPCC. This was a 7/24 operation that manages the bulk power assets of both Consumers Energy and Detroit Edison. The Staff consisted of 18 Consumers Energy and Detroit Edison Employees.

MEPCC Sr. Controller
Responsible for Load Forecasting and resource plan adjustments for the Joint Merchant Operation at the MEPCC. Supervise two other employees during on shift operations involved with generation dispatching and transactions in the wholesale electric market.

Responsible for generation dispatch of Consumers Energy and Detroit Edison Bulk Power assets.
Actively involved in the real-time wholesale energy negotiating both purchases and sale of electricity for the Michigan Companies.
Monitored the High Voltage transmission systems of Consumers Energy and Detroit Edison for overload conditions in an N-1 condition.

Plant Shift Operations Supervisor
Supervised an operations team of 12 in the daily operation of three generating units and the associated boilers and auxiliary equipment.
Responsible for all evolutions at the complex during the off shifts and weekends.
Authorized the carrying out of switching and tagging orders and issued clearance to crew in both the plant and in the substation.
