A Mechanical Engineer with almost (11) years of professional experiences working in EPC contractor involving multi-million/billion projects for constructions such as Oil & Gas, Refineries, Power plant, Desalination, Pipelines. To ensure the implementation of quality policies, safety policies, quality objectives and scope of work activities that are carried out within the contract requirements and project specifications as per approved Quality Management System in accordance with Codes and Standards. Supervising of subcontractors and oversee in process inspection and final inspection in the field of Piping, Mechanical, Painting/Coating, Insulation, Fireproofing, and Refractories. Conducts quality assessment of the design of work in a systematic manner and evaluates the project procedures in accordance with the applicable project specification including international standards such as NACE, SSPC, ASME, API, AWS, ANSI, and ASTM. Team Management


Duties & Responsibilities

Quality Assurance and Quality Control

As Client/Contractor representative, provide quality and oversight of QA/QC inspections for Piping, Mechanical, Coatings, Insulation, Fireproofing and Refractories. To ensure project standards, specifications, and documentation is to contractual requirements.

Preparing and reviewing of the project procedures such as inspection and test plan (ITP), Method Statements (MS) and other Project Requirements.

Ensure the implementation of approved Project Quality Plan (PQP), Inspection and Test Plan

(ITP) developed by the contractors for the EPC scope of work.

Carry out surveillance on activity during execution of project and to ensure implementation of quality assurance system in order to meet QA/QC requirement of the project. Assure that all inspection and test outline in inspection plan are carried out.

Ensure that Non-Conformance Report (NCR) are raised once the activities deviated from the Contract Specification or normal construction industry practices.

Perform Inspection and Supervision of quality of work to meet project specifications.

Coordinates with other section of contractors such as Piping, Mechanical, Civil, Structures, Electrical, and Equipment’s installation to reduce interfacing problems.

Supervise and Coordinate the activities to ensure work schedules meet the deadlines.

Witness and verify all aspects with regards from material take off from drawings, line checking and area checks to identify requirement, material quality during delivery and fabrication activities.

Random check on incoming materials for proper certification/verification and inspection records to ensure product identification and trace ability.

Pro-active monitoring of project milestone progress, makes necessary analysis to problem areas and recommends corrective action.

Provide early warning of potential quality problems.

Strictly verify and check the sequence work activities to assure the good quality application and maintain the production works.

Conduct analysis on site defects as well as to ensure that all sites meets its quality standard.

Monitor all equipment and materials use for Painting, Insulation, Fireproofing and Refractory if still in good condition and safe to use as per vendors requirements.

Checking and review the paint product data sheet and the materials weather it conforms the required specification.

Checking on the specific materials, equipment, and construction/installation activities.

Check and records climatic condition.

Conduct daily inspections related to surface profile, surface contamination, wet film (WFT), dry film thickness (DFT), holiday testing, adhesion testing etc. as per specification requirements.

Maintain interface with the client to ensure that all contractual and code requirements are met as far as the inspection scope is concerned.

Monitor all quality aspects and ensure that all painting works meets approved specification (paint system and coding cycle of paint).

Perform witness inspection (hold points) for the installation of piping components, rotating and static equipment as required on the Inspection and Test Plan.

To reject via non-conformance reports (NCR), the elements deviating from the QA/QC plan and to follow-up on NCR’s to ensure corrective actions.

Responsible for the review of all QA/QC site inspection reports for fit-up of piping components, welding, and NDT and equipment installation records.

Perform line checking/punch listing together with the client inspector/consultant prior to conduct a pressure testing of the pipeline.

Witnessed Hydrostatic Test as per pressure test on test package block includes flushing of piping after and before pressure test.

Witnessed Re-instatement to make sure correctness bolts, nuts and gaskets installed and its tightened and closing punch list once have been completed.

Review of all inspection reports and other documents in conformance to project test and test inspection procedure and in compliance with the client’s documentation requirements and company ISO 9001:2008

Review of ECC packages (Erection Completion Certificate) to ensure that the inspection reports are correct and complete for the sub-system and conduct sub-system walk down/punch listing to verify that the system is complete prior to commission.

Familiar with relevant codes and standards, Oil and Gas industry construction practices and procedures i.e. ASME, ASTM, API, AWS, NACE, SSPC, ISO, ANSI, BS, PIP, CINI.

Ensure safety and quality procedures are being effectively and consistently implemented by the contractor or subcontractors.

Coordinates with the project staff to compile and maintain pertinent records of inspection and testing until end of the contract and all pertinent records for retention on completion of the project. Field Engineer and Site Supervision

Review the project technical specifications issued by Oil /Gas Companies, National & International Clients and elaborate the input data related to Piping, Mechanical, Painting, Insulation, Fireproofing and Refractories.

Interpret and review of construction plan and drawings, project specification and provide engineering support.

Evaluate and recommend appropriate construction materials and equipment to be used by mechanical and piping group at site.

Review and evaluate contract documents to identify contractor scope of work and method of measurement.

Conduct site visit and collaborate with the Site Engineers to create more efficient method to execute work at site.

Attending weekly engineering meeting to discuss regarding the development of the projects, change order status, RFI's status and other engineering matters.

Prepare and update monitoring status of Mechanical, Piping fabrication and installation, Insulation, and Painting for weekly engineering reports.

Coordinate with adjacent Site Engineer for any modification of work at site and preparing as-built drawing for proper documentation.

Logging of daily activities, highlighting and noting some important issues and coordination with other involve section.

Make request of inquiry for the material and equipment availabilities / deliveries.

Monitoring and Updating Project Daily Manpower and Equipment Reports.

Verified, Rectified and Closed the Corrective Action Request (CAR) issued by the Company.

Ensure that all manpower, materials and equipment requirements of each work area are properly established and adequately distributed in accordance with the set priorities.

Lead in Piping &Mechanical daily Final System Walk Down of every system prior to hand over to the owner/company.

Inspection/clearing of punch list (Mechanical/Piping/Electrical/Civil/Structural) raise during sub- system walk down prior to final close out and hand over prior to commissioning stage of the project.

Review of Sub-System Packages for interim turnover notice (ITN) prior submission to turn over of custody and control certificate (TCCC) (Turnover/Completion) acceptance.

Coordinate with the electrical and instrument crew in preparation for mechanical running test.

Conduct mechanical running test of the equipment’s thru approved commissioning procedures with our client representatives.

Taking data during mechanical running test (Pressure, temperature, flow, vibration, speed, sound and etc.) for evaluation and references as per commissioning procedures.

Conduct initial start-up/first operation of the plant.

Supervise the operation and maintenance of the plant.

Coordinate with the construction crew for some more plant modification or expansion.

Issue and approve work permit for some repair and maintenance work. Career Experience
