To whom it may concern, 1 November, 2018

I am writing you because I am interested in an engineering positions within your company. I have extensive engineering experience designing, analyzing, testing, operating, and researching complex aerospace systems. This experience I have acquired over 21 years working under different industries and environments, including commercial and military. I have over 6 years of experience designing Environmental Control Systems, Powerplant Systems, Structural Systems and Flight Entertainment Systems on various aircraft, including Gulfstream, Boeing and Airbus. Additionally, I possess over 6 years of experience as a mechanic and inspector for maintenance and manufacturing operations. This experience has helped me attain an understanding of various complex systems. As a result, I am capable of quickly understanding complicated new systems and applying previous experience to new problems.

As an Apache pilot, I coordinated with OEM engineers for aircraft testing and data analysis as well as performed maintenance test flights. My engineering background proved invaluable to OEM engineers when advising in systems design and modifications. Also, I have been enrolled in the Masters of Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics with the University of Alabama, where I apply engineering concepts to solve current engineering problems that face the industry. Furthermore, the leadership experience I attained through the military has allowed me to be very successful when leading engineering groups of different backgrounds and disciplines. In conclusion, I believe I will be a great asset to your company not only because of my engineering background, but most importantly because of my overall experience. Being a combat pilot operating the most technologically advanced helicopter in extremely stressful situations, gives me an inside perspective that other engineers do not have when designing complex systems and operational requirements. Further, as a mechanic and inspector on maintenance and manufacturing operations, I have in-depth experience with tooling, manufacturing processes and standards.

It is because of my overall experience as a combat pilot, inspector, mechanic, and engineer, that I separate myself from all engineers and the reason I believe I can be a great asset to your company.

Thank you for your time and I hope to hear from you soon. You may contact me via email at or phone at 954-***-****. Attached is my detailed resume. Very Respectfully,

Diego Blandon
