1. January 2015: Case study whose roles and responsibilities were;
Imparting on knowledge to the community farmers on agricultural technologies and life skills; through holding trainings, meetings using appreciative and participatory approaches.
Involvement in team work projects; Agro-forestry, coffee planting and post- harvest handling of coffee and value addition, project generation and evaluation and financial analysis. I was in position to attain leadership skills, impart on and attain agronomic skills for a diversity of crops; vegetables, fruits, crops (ranging from nursery establishment, management, seed bed preparation, planting; crop/tree quality and yield/disease control technologies through budding, grafting, staking, pruning; harvesting; storage technologies and marketing of agro-outputs) at community level.
Design, preparation of projects and organize them for presentations. 2. July-August 2015: Internship student at Kasese Mubuku Irrigation Settlement Scheme and my key responsibilities were;
Managing and improving Mubuku irrigation scheme demonstration orchard achieve different activities were done like, pruning, weeding, manure application, mango harvesting, spraying against pest.
Organizing the animal for dipping or dipping exercise /activities where I looked for some people, putting to help in gathering animals for dipping in a collecting yard, putting clean water in the foot bath to remove dirty from hooves to avoid contamination of the dip wash, also topping the dip wash at a recommended level
Visiting different farmers in the scheme that deals in different crop enterprises and varieties where I learned new things on how to harvest like rice and also correcting them on some oth- er production practices like constructing drainage channels to stop water from moving from one farm to another because it may carry a dieses agent from one farm to another.
I was involved in facilitating some students who would come and visit the scheme for study tours. Teaching the historical dock ground of the scheme and how water moves from the farm to the field or how to irrigate and the system of irrigation use which is furrow.
Visiting the nearby poultry farms because at the scheme there is no poultry farm, where par- ticipated in feeding birds, eggs collection bird handling at different stages of growth, and vaccinating animals against disease like Gombaro, foultyphoid, merex.
Participating in milking as well as supervising herdsmen during milking to avoid milk thefty. SKILLS AND ATTITUDES GAINED FROM THE WORKING EXPERIENCE
