Projects included:

oDeveloping and launching the full packaging system for a new production line to fill gallon (PP) and

half gallon (PET) ice tea in a 5 month period. (January to May 2015)

oQualifying a new supplier for 50 mL PET bottles and all the accompanying packaging for the product.

oCreating a base line for acceptable pressure-sensitive label stocks for new LiDestri Spirit Customers.

oManaging shrink neck sleeves, capsules, corks, ROPP and tamper-evident plastic closures.

Responsible for all packaging initiatives including innovation, productivity, marketing, sustainability and quality.

Trained and managed Product R&D Food Technologists for Packaging on three different occasions.

Created and developed industrial baselines for packaging quality check processes and technical specifications

Established R&D testing qualification, three-stage process, for packaging including production and shipping trials.

Worked with Manufacturing, Maintenance and Quality, developed baseline quality criteria for incoming and finished packaging for horizontal f/f/s multi-packs, pre-formed cups, lidding, shrink sleeves, bottles, corrugated, paperboard.

Saved over 400,000 lbs and several million dollars in packaging reductions without succumbing to increased damage in the distribution cycle. These projects included:

oConversion of multi-pack yogurt from polystyrene to plant-based PLA, the first of its kind in the Dairy industry. Conversion led to a 20% reduction in film gauge and reduced weight of f/f/s cups by 10%.

oReplacing injection-molded, 32oz. cups for thermoformed cups, reducing the package by 17%.

oRemoving the foil from all smoothie bottles and converting to a plug-fit cap for three different bottles.

oConverting several hand-packed Club cases from pre-printed corrugated to a paperboard cartons which decreased packaging cost and weight by over 20% as well as lead time and quantity of pre-orders.

Packaging lead for the first, fresh yogurt pouch in the US in 2013 and created a multi-pack, stand-alone

displayable-shipper for the pouches.

Developed and launched new packaging for two new production lines and three package sizes for Stonyfield Greek.

Technical lead of a cross-functional initiative to convert the majority of all yogurt cups from dry-offset printing to shrink sleeves in 2012.

Stonyfield’s sustainable packaging lead and managed their Wal-Mart scorecard from 2009 – 2013.

KRAFT FOODS, Tarrytown, NY Packaging Engineer - 08/05 – 12/08

North American Beverages Sustainable Packaging Lead -

Updated and trained packaging and R & D management on current environmental information and corporate sustainability initiatives including Kraft’s Eco- tool, packaging reductions, sustainable materials and package design.

Led a team of eight people and was the technical point-person for converting Yuban and Nabob Coffee brands from steel to composite cans; launched in May 2008.

Key member of the Maxwell House, three pound plastic container project, primarily responsible for design of the over cap, cap fit and bulk cap delivery system.

Point-person for project specs, QC checks, procedures, process operating guide and sustainable packaging initiatives.

Consultant for Coffee Division, evaluated all U.S. metal can operations, specifications and QC in Kraft coffee plants.

Conducted line trials and packaging tests for related labels, over caps, cartons, composite cans, trays and shippers.

Worked with marketing on coffee packaging development for club stores in national channels using TOPS software.
