American Cancer Society, Atlanta, Georgia November, 2016 – June, 2017 Division Communications Manager (Contract Position)

• Oversaw the media relations, communications (internal and external) and marketing for the state of Georgia in the South Atlantic Division of the American Cancer Society.

• Stayed in persistent contact with the media in both the metro Atlanta area and the throughout the state of Georgia to help give the American Cancer Society top-quality coverage and visibility in the community.

• Helped coordinate media coverage with numerous American Cancer Society events (Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, Relay for Life, Making Strides against Breast Cancer, etc.) through press releases, public service announcements, on-air interviews and magazine features.

• Produced a monthly E-Newsletter for Special Olympics Georgia entitled “Georgia’s Champions.”
