Assistant Immigration Manager, February – September 2018. I was recruited to join the Global Employer Services Division where I provided strategic Singapore immigration consulting to Fortune 500 companies in the Technology, and Financial Services sectors. While I held an organizational title of Assistant Manager (Level 5), I was internally designated as a Service Delivery Lead (typically given to a Manager, and Senior Manager) within two (2) months of joining where I was entrusted to oversee three (3) of Deloitte’s crown jewel clients. In this role, I supervised the work of eleven (11) Immigration and Tax Consultants with an average caseload of 150 to 300 at any given time. Additionally, I sat in various cross-function engagements with corporate secretarial, tax, and employment divisions acting as a subject matter expert for matters involving expatriate employment for merger and acquisition projects in Singapore. Outside of immigration, I was the tax-immigration representative to the Human Resources department.


Immigration Manager, January 2015 – February 2018. Sabbatical from January - June 2017.

Magrath Global is a subsidiary of Magrath LLP, a tier-1 Legal 500 London based law firm. Under the direct tutelage of the firm’s Partner in Singapore, I was tasked to implement, run and ensure a seamless immigration, tax and relocation process for global assignees into Singapore. My responsibilities covered the entire spectrum from advising multi-national corporations to actual immigration transactions such as work pass applications for various immigration categories and the Permanent Residence (PR) scheme. In addition, I supervised a team of nine (9) Immigration Consultants where I was responsible for providing guidance on Singapore immigration rules, regulations, procedures and policies. I also rendered strategic advisory in respect to complex and sensitive immigration issues where I provided practical and compliant solutions for matters such as asylum application, same-sex relationship, refusal of entry, business immigration i.e. new business set-up, merger and acquisition, immigration audit and confidential senior executives move. I was also a key member of the global team across the USA, EMEA and Asia Pacific geographies managing a population of expatriates globally. On the corporate front, I assisted the Head office in London with human resources responsibilities, client-marketing (including RFPs) and vendor management i.e. payroll, relocation, and tax. Global Operations/HR Implementation Senior Consultant, January 2017 – June 2017. Exclusive 6-month contract. Although my performance was rated highly by my most recent employer, I left to be a caregiver to my brother who was suffering from an end stage illness. While on sabbatical, I provided immigration consultancy to Gerson Lehrman Group and its clients. I was also engaged by Eurofar International, a Dutch multi-national corporation to assist in the incorporation of its office in Singapore, and its acquisition of a company in Vietnam. I was subsequently recruited for an exclusive 6-month contract by Ingeus Global, a UK-based multi-national corporation to set-up its new office in Singapore. I oversaw two key deliverables of the office set-up – Employment Agency license application, and cross-border corporate compliance where I reported directly to the Regional CEO in South Korea. I also worked with a global team of stakeholders from subject matter experts, senior leadership and external consultants to support the integrated implementation approach of project engagement (with the Government of Singapore – Ministry of Manpower), transition to global support model, and regional support. I was subsequently promoted to the role of Acting Director where I oversaw finance, human resources, recruitment and corporate compliance implementation. My performance was rated highly by the senior leaderships and I was subsequently offered a permanent role however I declined.

Recruited and became the first hire of the regional start-up. The company provided highly customised printing devices for the medical and manufacturing industries. My duties included developing, and coordinating short and long-term business goals which included preparing integrated strategic plans via scenario analysis, collection of market insights, and budgetary control. Entertainment Programming Senior Executive, 2010 – 2012. Sentosa Development Corporation is a statutory board under the Ministry of Trade and Industry that manages the popular island, Sentosa. In this role, I was one of only two planners for entertainment programming. I worked closely with the people, private and public sectors - for marketing campaigns and key events. I was also the primary liaison between agency staff, client marketing teams and outsourced vendors where I was personally responsible in setting the project parameters and guided teams in the development and delivery of campaign strategy and multimedia collateral.
