Started out as the evening shift full time pre clerk, entering bill of ladings into the computer to send out to the dock for dock workers to unload trailers to send freight out on line haul. Out bounded drivers, entered daily mileage and cash balance. Kept up drivers daily driving logs in the computer along with entering their work hours.
Went from Pre Clerk to the appointment clerk making appts with customers for their freight to be delivered. Out bounded linehaul drivers to other terminals, worked with day drivers to make sure they had all paperwork needed for their daily runs.

Helped customers find their missing freight, whether it was lost or damaged. Communication with both shipper and customer was extremely important to me trying to find a happy medium for when freight would be located and delivered and what they would need to do if freight was not located. Heavy phone and computer with this position but I loved every minute of it. Assistant drivers in authorizations for delivering freight, assisted shippers with damaged freight being returned, Cut bills, Labeled freight to be moved, Kept up with all company policies and procedures for all positions including cash balance, obtaining monies from customers and assisting Sales Reps with making sure that the customer was always happy with their timely deliveries and returns.
Very heavy computer and phone, fax, printers, email. High volumn and thoroughly enjoyable job. I loved every minute of it. Driving 120 miles a day for the last six months ran its toll on my vehicle.
