Manager– Financial Services/Credit and Collections

•Provided focused global financial services leadership for a team of 20 credit analysts/supervisor, A/R accountants and credit and collections account administrators with over 4,000 active customer accounts and $20MM in receivables, and yearly revenues of over $200MM.

•Played a key finance member role during a time of dramatic revenues and corporate growth including a significant expansion in Europe, developing and rolling out a new extended lease program, and developing and implementing exclusive distribution agreements.

•Led a pivotal role in developing and ensuring methodical compliance through installation of robust “Best in Class” credit & collections and A/R policies and procedures in strict adherence with the stringent SOX regulatory requirements.

•Provided well-organized A/R and balance sheet audit leadership in delivering strong support with the Big 4 quarterly and annual audit process. The result was clean audit outcomes.

•Led the finance charge in exceeding the challenging credit & collections metrics/targets including cash collection optimization goals, DSO reduction/ improvement and minimizing A/R write-offs through versatile analysis and streamlining of the workflow setup and team training.

•Drove the development and rollout of a much more stringent credit policy for high risk customers including recrafting deposits, letters of credit and how to perfect a security interest under the UCC.;

•Championed the development, research and assessment of a new credit scoring system that was deployed in safely granting automated credit approvals based on GAAP focused financial ratios and solid credit ratings.

•Appointed by senior management to assume a key financial leadership role in reviewing the credit & collections and A/R business policies and practices for an acquisition in France.

•Key member of a cross functional team engaged in all M&A’s process by the company including due diligence, reviewing the billing processes, cash applications, and driving the A/R review for exposures.

•Appointed by management to assume a key leadership role in managing the lease desk ensuring strong controls and installation of policies and procedures ensured stringent compliance to the companies new extended lease program requirements with different financial options ranging from Operating Leases to Finance Leases for used Equipment out of Inventory pool or new Equipment purchased under our various distribution agreements, across a range of brands and products.

•Partnered with the senior finance team in assessing and developing the appropriate extension of credit terms and limits to potential clients by leveraging credit worthiness analysis using external credit rating agencies and bank & trade references.

•Key driving force in the renovation and updating of the existing/underperforming credit policies including gaining a more robust understanding of major customers A/P policies, and redefining/restructuring the collections process. The result was a dramatic improvement in reducing A/R delinquency rate that was exceeding 20%, a bad debt write-off legacy of 1% of annual sales and DSO’s running at 55 days after one year to significantly reducing A/R delinquency down to 5%, lowering the bad debt down to 0.5% and decreasing DSO by over 10%.

•Successfully partnered with the sales and customer service teams in optimizing sales initiatives that drove new business opportunities and generated incremental revenues.
