I would like to get a position that would make full use of my abilities in English. I currently work as a part-time assistant teacher here in Japan, having transitioned from working in the corporate I.T. field in my home country the Philippines.

My seven years as a volunteer tutor from 2001 to 2008, tutoring children in English and other subjects at a street children’s foundation to supplement their non-formal education, and those from poor families have added to the children’s life skills and confidence in interacting with “regular” children. Also, having taught one-to-one some Japanese business people with their English conversation including editing their business reports in English, has given me insights into their common approaches in English conversation and writing.

With my skills and experience as a part-time assistant teacher in Japan, a volunteer tutor for children in crisis and Japanese business people, as well as the experience gained from my fifteen years in the corporate field, I believe I have what it takes to become an excellent English teacher.
