2014 – 2017 Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources Kwara State (livestock officer)

Assist and train farmers on best practices regarding the broiler and layers farming to improve the quality and quantity of their production;

Assess the farmers' current practices and provide guidance on how to correct any issues that may limit productivity;

Train the farmers/entrepreneurs on best livestock farming and poultry management;

Provide support to selected entrepreneurs on poultry facility design, construction, installation, maintenance and the overall poultry farm management;

Provide training to poultry farmer owners in the state in relation to hygiene, flock management and proper handling of the birds in the farms;

Coordinate closely with suppliers of broiler input packages materials during the supply phase of the project;

Deliver agricultural extension services to project beneficiaries during the project implementation period;

Assist field staff in conducting beneficiaries surveys;

Solve local technical poultry issues where possible and report on-going problems including outbreaks of disease and poultry mortality;

Identify the root causes of the existing poultry sector problems and develop relevant and right time approach for its solution
