Improved the quality of musical instruction by procuring many additional, costly musical instruments for students’ use and recruiting qualified faculty and staff members, including several international artists. Funds for these additions were obtained with the cooperation of the university president through improved communications and relations with his administration.
Established a string instrument atelier, which has since become a profoundly useful, profitable and self-supporting unit of the music school.
Formed international partnerships to create student exchange opportunities with the Benedetto Marcello Conservatory in Venice; the International Youth Music Festival in Belford, France; the Bremen Youth Symphony Orchestra and the University of Minnesota School of Music.
