PHARMACOLOGY & MEDICAL RESEARCH

As a Safety Physician/Research Assistant(2014 to present) conducted a Patient Safety Research study on the relevance of information and guidance provided online on social media forums to Diabetic patients (Diabetes Mellitus Type 1, 1.5 & 2) at Patient Safety Research Centre under the guidance of Dr. Ranjit Singh (Vice-Chair for Research, Dept. of Family Medicine, Director PSRC, University of Buffalo).

In-charge of patient safety data gathering and analysis.

Contributed to the interface design and helped determine the characteristics of various users, their frequency and quality of response thereby assessing patient safety online.

Detection and Analysis of the Adverse Events (AE), Adverse Drug Reactions (ADR) and Serious Adverse Events(SAE) occurring in the Diabetes Social forum.

Review of Medical Literature with respect to the research.

Responsible for cross functional co-ordination and project management.

Co-authored study review papers expounding the findings of the study.

WeB 2015 (Workshop on eBusiness Conference) : Research paper accepted based on the above Research study - “Quality of patient –patient interactions in online health communities : Is what you see indeed what you get?” to the Workshop on eBusiness Conference (WeB 2015). This study seeks to examine the impact of question completeness, perceived source expertise and involvement on the response quality in an online social networking forum related to Diabetes.

Retrospective Cohort study under the guidance of Dr.Tolarova M.D, Ph.D (Geneticist, Professor University of San Francisco) to determine the causal relationship between cleft lip/palate and Folic acid, vitamin B and Zinc(2008)
