SUMMARY

As a Human Resources (HR) Generalist responsible for supporting daily HR operations, applying business knowledge and human resource expertise, and providing a wide range of HR support, I played a key role in the success of the organization by supporting HR programs, defining HR best practices, all while facilitating positive relationships between personnel and senior management.

WORK EXPERIENCE

LIBERTY MUTUAL INSURANCE COMPANY Boston, MA

Human Resources Generalist-Corporate 2007 to 2017

Responsible for managing several Corporate Human Resource Programs and all related vendor relationships (Employee Anniversary, Quarter Century Club (QCC) and Outplacement Services programs).

Overseeing all vendor relationships for Employee Relations; which includes providing consulting on contracts, contract analysis and compliance, as well as reviewing, monitoring, resolving, and paying invoices.

Proposing and implementing an innovation that moved all service orders and invoicing to use an automated purchase and invoicing system (Ariba/BuySMART).

Re-engineering internal processes to improve efficiencies while finding ways to save thousands of dollars (Example: I saved the company approximately $35,000 by finding a less expensive method to distribute the 5th year anniversary packages).

Successfully completing and securing all special project files for future reference regarding: Coordinating project teams to analyze, identify, and move all Employee Relations personnel files to a third party (Iron Mountain); supporting and migrating numerous HR Systems to new solutions (Ex. HR Toolkit to HR Center web solution), and facilitating all aspects of many Request for Proposal team projects.

Solely responsible for managing the National Merit Scholarship Program and its logistics with the internally Financial and Management teams, and negotiating with external vendor(s).

Organizing tours and providing necessary information (schedules of events, procedures, etc.) for new hire hires, college and high school recruiting events, as well as multiple annual QCC events.

Moving all new company-wide HR policy and HR form changes into effect by creating, updating, and publishing web pages (Examples: Employee Center (Employee Handbook, Compensation & Benefits); Flexible Work Arrangements Manager Center (Manager Policies Manual, Forms, and HR Center); Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Outplacement, HR Investigation Guides, and Staffing Reductions), and then storing any related files.

Analyzing the processes used to implement and administer employee policies and procedures to identify improvement strategies.

Drafting and communicating HR program changes via Quarterly Newsletters to all departmental and divisional Corporate Human Resources contacts.

Coordinating the purchase and distribution of all the state and federal Labor Law posters companywide.

Providing Senior and Executive management with valued advice and services regarding everyday employee relations issues.

Supporting the HR department in implementing programs designed to improve the employee experience.

Human Resources Representative-Corporate 2000 to 2007

Acting as a liaison between departmental and divisional Corporate Human Resources for all Human Resource issues.

Coordinating the development, production, and revisions of numerous HR printed materials.

Responsible for administering several Corporate Human Resource Programs (Employee Anniversary, Employee Suggestion, Liberty Listens, Job Posting and Bereavement (i.e. 1-800-Flowers)).

Coordinated with H.R. Administrative Systems to implement Intranet versions of the Employee Handbook, Employee Relations’ forms and the Personnel Policies and Procedures manual.

Collaborating with the Legal and Procurement Services departments to assist with drafting or re-writing contracts for all Corporate Human Resource Programs.

First responder and primary resource for all Liberty Mutual employees with questions about personnel policies, procedures, and programs.
