PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Redrock Telecommunications - Phoenix Arizona 10/01/15 to present

VP of Operations

Helped found Redrock with my previous CEO to establish a company selling VOIP services with the Avaya CPOD and the Metaswitch. Responsible for Switch Operations, IP engineering, IT, Outside Plant/Engineering, Physical plant, and P&L.

Accomplishments - Installed the Avaya CPOD communicating with the Metaswitch in 48 days. This is the only install of this type in the world. This was an extremely complex project with Avaya/Metaswitch negotiations and the technical merits to get these disparate operating systems working. We are now processing almost 500,000 calls a week. I pride myself on leveraging the latest technology for a competitive business advantage. Since Redrock is a startup, I have hands-on knowledge on the Meta, working with the Cisco’s, fiber networking, firewalls, and assisting on customer turn-ups in addition to my executive role. I have personally negotiated with 5 resellers to sell our product. Additionally, I have been responsible for over 50% of the direct sales.

Saddleback Communications - Scottsdale Arizona 2007 – 2015

Director of Operations - VP of Operations

Responsible for Switch Operations, IP engineering, IT, Outside Plant/Engineering, Commercial Techs, Field Techs and assist in management of a new CLEC. Manage a team of 30 employees and P&L for all of Operations.

Accomplishments – In the 7 years at Saddleback I turned the operations into a first-class service provider. We retired the entire legacy Nortel Equipment and migrated from a CopperComm soft switch to a distributed MetaSwitch and completed our 2nd CO. I managed a project to replace the entire network infrastructure. The net result is a more efficient operation with a reduction in operation expense of about 50%. After my first year at Saddleback we were profitable. I negotiated the sale of the DMS 500 to Integra and the removal of the management fee that Saddleback paid each month for a significant savings.

In 2009, I worked diligently to establish a new LLC Reinvent to sell VOIP services. I worked through the legal hurdles to obtain the SRPMIC council approval. The last few years my main objective was keeping the ILEC profitable and growing Reinvent (CLEC). When I left, there was 23 resellers throughout the US selling our VOIP product as a white label product. We won the Innovator award from CALIX in 2013 and Metaswitch in 2012. We completed our 10gig ring to IO and set up peering there with 3 larger providers and turned up customers right away. Customer satisfaction at Saddleback was at 92%. In 2012 - 2014 we retrofit all the CISCO infrastructure, and all the CALIX nodes. We did both active Ethernet to the business and true FFTH to the homes. 2014 installed Palo Alto equipment and additional peers at I/O data center.

Mountain Telecommunications Inc. – Scottsdale Arizona 2000 - 2007

Director of Implementation, VP of Operations and COO

I was recruited at MTI to take over the implementation, project management and all network circuit ordering and design. I was promoted to run the entire operations and later became the COO to manage a staff of 50.

Accomplishments - I was instrumental in growing MTI from 1 ICDF to 47 throughout the state of Arizona to establish a statewide network. MTI was one of the few profitable CLECs in America. We groomed the entire network to be a more cost efficient, larger capacity network. This gave MTI a competitive advantage. In the 7 years, I worked at MTI as a member of the executive team we grew our revenue from about $3.5 - $4 million to $18 - $19 million annually before we sold the company. MTI was a success because we really did provide the best service and the best network.
