Covenant Children’s & Adult Emergency Room Sept 2015- current

Provided emergency level care to patients triaged at level 4, 5 independently and level 3 patients with physician checkout. Assisted in traumas by ordering labs.

I am proficient in the following procedures: laceration repairs, incision and drainage, removal and biopsy of skin lesions, joint aspiration and corticosteroid injections to large and small joints and ligaments, trigger point therapy and toenail removal, splint applications.

I have trained exclusively with multiple Emergency medicine pediatricians and confidently provide care to patients newborn age and up.

Lovington Medical Clinic, Nor Lea General Hospital- July 2012- Aug 2016

As my first job, I pioneered the development of a successful walk-in clinic in rural Lovington, NM. I accept triages of level 4 & 5 ER cases, also providing urgent care needs as walk-in basis. Daily I efficiently see a patient load of 20-45 patients, with high patient satisfaction scores. I seen a wide diversity of patient conditions and managed chronic health conditions. As needed I communicated with my supervisor or the emergency MD for evaluation of more emergent cases.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT/VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE

2018 I went to practice medicine in Juacotenango villages in guatemala. I also went to the Amazon river in brazil in 2014 to evangelize the gospel of Jesus to the Ribeirinho peoples. I’ve served locally as a big sister with NM big brothers and big sisters foundation since 2013. I also have volunteered in church on the worship team, nursery, Sunday school teacher and greeter, since 2012. I was the Director of External Affairs at University of St. Francis and I coordinated outreach and volunteer opportunities for Class of 2012 including fundraising for greater than 150 insecticide-treated-bed nets to be sent to children and pregnant mothers for malaria prevention in Togo and Ghana, Africa (2011).

LANGUAGES

Two years of college instruction in Spanish. I am currently capable to translate most urgent care health related problems without the assistance of a translator.
