East Zeit Petroleum Company (Zeitco), Egypt. 2007 - Present Reservoir Studies Section Head & Company Representative in Technical Meetings Brief History of East Zeit Petroleum Company (Zeitco): Zeitco is a JV petroleum company between the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation

(EGPC) and Dana Petroleum Company. Zeitco office is located in Cairo, Egypt and has three fields (one offshore and two onshore).

There were many partners shared the EGPC before Dana Petroleum such as Suesso, ESSO, Seagull/Ocean and Devon.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for the reservoir engineering monitoring of onshore and offshore Fields. Work included the implementation of reservoir simulation (ECLIPSE).

Update old dynamic simulation models due to new well/production data.

Monitor reservoir and well performance.

Assess and evaluate coning potential and recommended strategy to restrain coning if possible.

Build Single Well Model (SWM), using ECLIPSE (Black Oil) for some wells for production prediction and/or studying well phenomena (such as water coning).

Prepare and implement completion / work-over programs.

Analytical studies such as; Critical rate estimation for water coning, Horizontal well performance prediction, Analogy ... etc.

Perform pressure transient well test design and analysis.

Prepare fluid sampling programs (bottom hole and surface).

Review the PVT reports and build fluid models.

Perform the special and conventional core analysis and use it in rock typing and flow units determination.

Evaluate well and field performance; recommended short, medium and long-term remedial actions where possible.

Participate in designing work-over plans including additional perforations, water shut- off and gas shut-off.

Propose infill wells via performing conventional comprehensive studies using conventional reservoir engineering analytical approaches (Decline Curve Analysis by OFM, Volumetric Calculations, Material Balance, constructed drainage pattern maps, bubble maps and remaining oil reserves maps).

RFT interpretation and integration with log and geological data.

Create OFM projects for both onshore and offshore fields.

Planning and conducting reservoir simulation studies including all study phases such as; study objectives, assess adequacy of available data, determine optimum gridding/layering for reservoir model, initialize/calibrate the dynamic model, history matching, prediction for various development and completion scenarios, provide technical reports and presentations, ...etc.

Member of team who was responsible for constructing simulation model for East Zeit field (one of the most complex fields in Egypt) with an extended support from a consultant "Schlumberger DCS". This field was divided into 6 reservoir simulation models with different rock/fluid properties and different drive mechanisms.

Company representative in most of technical meetings regarding well approvals, production planning, development planning, ...etc.

Recommend wells and reservoir surveillance plans.

Evaluate and recommend secondary recovery methods and/or pressure maintenance programs.

Responsible with the planning group for preparation of work schedules to optimize deferred oil production and reducing the flared gas.

Estimate the OOIP in all fields by different methods (Volumetric, Material Balance, Modeling, ...etc).

Estimate the remaining oil/gas reserves including all reserve categories as per standard reserve definitions (such as; PRMS by SPE) .

Prepare technical reports, presentations, and correspondences for internal or external auditors.

Responsible for annual, semi-annual production reports preparation in addition to short term and long term production forecasts.

planning and implementing of reservoir monitoring plans including production logging

(PLT), thermal decay time tool (TDT), bottom hole pressure surveys (BHP) and analysis of the obtained data using different software's.

Conducting reservoir studies (conventional and simulation) using the various tools available including; logging, coring, geological modeling, material balance, pressure transient, drill-stem tests, reservoir simulation, decline curve analysis, ...etc.
