Project Manager Emission Testing In-Use Verification Program (IUVP) Verification Program

The In-Use Verification Program is part of the Federal Clean Air Act. The Environmental Protection agency and the California Air Resources Board require manufacturers to test randomly selected customer vehicles at approximately one (1) year old and approximately four (4) years old, to insure the emissions systems continue to function properly over time. FCA US LLC contracts to Automotive Testing and Development Services (ATDS) to perform procurement services for all areas, as well as testing services in California.

In charge of submitting annual budget and schedule for IUVP program.

Responsible for – mailings, Reply forms, Phone questionnaire and free loaner vehicle for customers. Also, responsible car is returned to customer on schedule and in good condition.

25% travel to testing sites to four locations at which US IUVP emissions testing is performed to ensure quality data is collected.

In charge of collating data and input into EPA E-Verify data base.

Solely responsible for hiring outside vendors and daily meetings with such.

Intimate knowledge of CARB, EPA regulations – Including 40CFR 86.1838-01.

Weekly meetings with parent company in England regarding current status of program and new EPA&CARB regulations.

Responsible for submitting technical reports. Writing well organized documentation submitted to EPA and Management.

-Fuel Economy Certification for all manual transmission BMW vehicles.

Determined a novel approach in conducting a finite element analysis for product reverse engineering for OEM development, resulting in faster turnaround times in the FAA approval for production process.

Implemented successful project guidelines utilizing my aero-design and manufacturing floor experience, resulting in 90% of projects in the engineering department running ahead of schedule and under budget.
