I was transferred to the Support Division of the Unemployment Department in December to process and schedule issues to the Adjudication Department, respond and answer correspondence, faxes, e-mails on claimants’ files, and follow up with any necessary documentation to complete issues on these files.

STATE OF NEVADA-UNEMPLOYMENT DIVISION (CLAIMS) 2009-2010

UI Representative I

My position in the NTIC center is to receive and process in-coming unemployment calls from claimants. I consistently answer and handle 45-60 calls per day, with the goal for a UIR II set at 48 calls/day. I analyze the claim to determine which claim the claimant should be on, i.e. Original, Federal, State, Federal or Military claims. I take all pertinent information regarding the claimant, their work history to assure that they have filed in a timely manner with no unreported wages during the quarters that the employer has reported. I create any issues needed on the claim, (overpayment, fraud, unreported wages or voluntary quit/termination) which then triggers this claim to be sent to the various departments for further investigation, i.e. Benefit Payment Control, Investigation or Adjudication Divisions. I do necessary follow up/documentation on the claim to assure that there are no further issues with the claim, prior to it being sent to these departments.
