WORK EXPERIENCE

2U, Inc. – Lanham, Maryland August 2012 – April 2018 2U is a publicly traded company that partners with great colleges and universities to build the world's best digital education. Director, Enrollment Services (May 2016 – April 2018) and Senior Manager, Enrollment Services (October 2015 – May 2016): The Enrollment Services department processes and prepares over 30,000 completed applications per year for submission to over forty-four (44) university partners, increasing faculty bandwidth for our partners to focus on rendering admissions decisions and matriculating students into their programs at a faster rate. The Director of Enrollment Services defines operating objectives and Key Performance Indicators, as well as develops and implements strategies to increase the number of completed applications by at least 2% year over year in accordance with state, federal and university guidelines.

• Oversees department of sixty (60) staff members between Denver and Maryland offices and supervises a leadership team of thirteen (13) while executing business strategy leading to improved total program management.

• Identifies and improves the operational efficiency, effectiveness and productivity of the enrollment services department resulting in outputs of over 30,000 completed applications per year with less than 2% error margin.

• Provides leadership, oversight and direction for implementing comprehensive and innovative strategies to drive completes 2% above revenue target, resulting in an increase in revenue by at least $2 million year over year and a

+30% increase in completed applications year over year.

• Responsible for ensuring that department consistently exceeds standards regarding quality and state/federal compliance inclusive of adhering to admissions and application processing requirements for over sixty (60) university programs and forty-four (44) university partners.

• Partners with Admissions and university partners to develop shared strategies to assist students during the application process.

• Consistently collaborates with IT, Technology Development team and Program Operations to increase use and efficiency of technology to streamline manual processes, minimize error and increase output of completes.

• Prepares and owns annual budget and personnel forecast based on staffing model and enrollment projections. Notable Contributions:

• Created staffing model and restructured department for scale to accommodate rapid growth of organization from forty-two (42) programs in 2015 to sixty (60) programs in 2017 while maintaining marginal error of less than 2%.

• Developed Enrollment Services team in the Denver office and created an international role for the “Get Smarter” office in South Africa resulting in global presence for the Enrollment Services Department.

• Streamlined processes, cross trained department and improved both staff performance and efficiency in operations, resulting in higher competency levels of staff members, lower turnover rates and doubling in output of completed applications from 12,000+ completed applications in 2015 to 30,000+ completed applications in 2017.

• Successfully transitioned and aligned the department by vertical/program content contributing to higher complete rates and an increased number of subject matter experts by program.

• Established and implemented a final review process for all completed applications to ensure increased accuracy and quality of completed applications submitted to faculty for review.

• Created best practices tools that were integrated into the launch and implementation process and used by internal and external stakeholders (inclusive of student success teams) to provide preferred recommendations for our approach to processing applications.

Admissions Manager (April 2014 – October 2015): Developed and implemented admissions initiatives and business strategies to improve overall performance of the admissions team for the Rossier School of Education at the University of Southern California. Managed the Rossier admissions team recruiting for all the Master of Arts in Teaching programs. Partnered with the Student Success team to implement strategies to increase student retention. Notable contributions:

• Led team to record number of deferred students since conception of 2U with twenty-one (21) defers in one cohort. Senior Admissions Counselor (January 2014 – April 2014): Lead Admissions Counselor for the Rossier Admissions team. Coordinated the Student Ambassador program for the Rossier School of Education which consisted of recruiting, training, and organizing call-a-thons with over (30) ambassadors. Designated Transition Assistance Program Specialist (TAPS) for new hires of the Rossier Program. Successfully converted over 90% of submitted applications to the Rossier program to registered applicants in the program and goaled to maintain a 90% retention rate of all assigned students. Conducted webinars and virtual presentations to discuss the requirements for admission and enrollment for prospective students and admitted students in the Rossier program.

Admissions Counselor (August 2012 – January 2014): Responded to the inquiries of prospective students/leads, as well as recruited students for all teaching programs at Rossier School of Education. Only Admissions Counselor to date with a perfect net promoter score of 100 for three (3) consecutive years. Educate Online Learning, LLC – Baltimore, Maryland July 2010-July 2012 Educate Online (now Meteor Learning/Educate Inc.) was the premier provider of Supplemental Education Services and online tutoring for students in Title I schools.

Contract Management Specialist: Negotiated and executed over (175) contracts between Educate Online Learning, LLC and various school districts within forty-four (44) states of the United States and Puerto Rico totaling over $7 million in annual revenue. Reviewed and approved incoming contractual agreements, verified contractual content and developed labor matrix for project team and over 600 tutors affiliated with Educate Online Learning.

• Tracked all incoming requests for monitoring and end of year reports and developed and completed over two hundred (200) end of year reports, which included a summative analysis of academic outcomes and performance improvement plans for submission to all relevant parties at the district and state levels for areas that we serve.

• Coordinated with Federal agencies, COTRS, local education agencies, state superintendents and school districts to develop, execute and track program specific projects and contract deliverables. Maple Springs Community Service Corporation (MSCSC) - Capitol Heights, Maryland May 2002-July 2010 The Maple Springs Community Service Corporation (MSCSC) is a non-profit, community-based organization committed to equipping and empowering today’s youth for tomorrow challenges through training, developing and implementing activities and programs that foster positive youth development. Executive Director: Responsible for day-day-day operations of the organization and for providing recommendations to the Board. Developed, staffed and implemented the Achieving Career Excellence (ACE) Summer Enrichment Program from its conception in 2002 and replicated program model at various sites servicing more than 150 students per summer. Wrote strategic and tactical proposals to procure grant funding of which 90% were awarded to Maple Springs Community Service Corporation. Built strategic alliances and partnerships with various philanthropic organizations, county schools and community-based organizations (CBOs) to procure funding for organizational and program sustainability. Covenant House Washington – Washington, DC January 2008 – July 2009 Covenant House Washington (CHW) provides a safe place and wrap around support for youth ages 18-24 experiencing homelessness, disconnection and exploitation.
