MAJOR PROJECTS
At American Express under Business Continuity Planning (BCP) department
First Project: “Optimizing the operating cost of printers” Problem Statement: As of “date” FCE Mathura Road office has approx. N numbers of printers for an employee base of n numbers of employees (average 1 printer for every 11 employees).Currently the average operating cost of the printers is approximately $16,000 per month. The Charges include AMC, Toner and Accessories calculated from the past 5 months usage data. The data for calculation purpose has been picked up from the PO’s raised and the actual bills rose by the vendor
Second Project: “How we define end-to-end process from procurement to disposal of Desktops (DT) and Laptops (LT)” In this project we focus on cleaning up this mess, there is no end-to-end process defined from procurement to disposal of Desktops
(DT) and Laptops (LT).With the help of four different teams (Global Procurement, Global Real Estate, Fixed Asset and Enterprise Infrastructure Delivery) working in isolations. We identified the major gaps as:-
Mismatch of TAM / FAR / Physical check data
Business risk of using out of warranty machines with no AMC
Stocking of decommissioned machines unnecessarily occupying space, creating fire hazard and security risk
Understanding the project requirements and studying various phases involved
Preparing documents and layouts for the same like Process Map and Fish bone with the help of Six Sigma
Organizing and participating in meetings with project manager (American Express), TL as well as other departments if required
No intimation on where the decommissioned machines are moved
No end-to-end process defied Inconsistent tagging of assets
