Work Experience

Lead Medical Technologist – MYLABDFW – reference lab-SouthLake TX 2016-Present

Lead shift Medical Technologist responsible for all maintenance, to include minor repair if warranted, and QC for the following day’s lab operations.

All instrument maintenance, QC, to include most calibrations, correlations, and CAP surveys

On Sysmex lines for hematology, and Beckman Coulter UNICEL DXC 880i, and Beckman Coulter AU5800 for chemistry samples, BioRad D100’s for A1C’s, and ISEDs for automated sedrate testing. Hematology testing did include diff review if reflexed.

Cloud based reference lab with fully automated services, which included their own large interface built to include a battery of 30 plus hormone tests for their clients. Many Low T clinic clients, hormone replacement docs, a few diabetic clinics, and many pain center doctors. Recently trained in the Urine Tox department which encompassed several Waters Acquity UPLC instruments for high complexity urine tox testing. All screen positives confirmed by LCMS with the Waters system.

Lead Medical Technologist - Medfusion reference Lab 2012- 2016

Lead shift Teck on evening and nights in hematology, urinalysis, and coagulation, and occasional body fluid counts when received– responsible for all specimen processing and results verification.

Working knowledge of complete sysmex line to include Siemen’s Advia Hematology, urinalysis and slide making/staining equipment

Knowledgeable of all calibration, correlation, maintenance, minor repairs when needed, and CAP surveys

Utilize LIS system to include SunQuest, Atlas, and Central Link

Chemistry – run specimens in various chemistry analyzers to include Abbott Architect, and Beckman

Hematology – run complete blood counts, analyze body fluids for white cell counts and general cell counts via the Beckman coulter LH 750 analyzer.

Coagulation – run all coagulation specimens on Stago Coag Analyzer to determine Heparin/coumadin therapies

Urinalysis – completed through Iris Spectra Analyzer with automated microscopic viewer.

Microbiology plating and gram stains. Minimal blood bank products issued as needed

Infection control and sterilization protocols.

MSRA by PCR performed with GenX analyzer

Cross-matching blood for transfusions and necessary units for OR department
