Aerospace Design Engineer – Contracted to help expedite the development of custom interior work on a private luxury VIP 737-700 Boeing Business Jetliner. Created numerous components from decorative parts, structural components, internal accent lighting, cockpit avionics and redesign/repurposed/reverse- engineered Boeing components to suit project needs all while being heavily involved in researching process specs, MS specs, and current industry guidelines & requirements.

Produced numerous IR documents ahead of schedule from day one so that production could begin manufacturing components prior to the aircraft being delivered to our facilities.

Was able to understand the company’s internal processes within the first week and was “flying solo” shortly thereafter with minimal guidance and/or supervision.

Was recognized and rewarded for putting out the most engineering documentation with minimal amount of errors in the department within the first few weeks of employment.

Created turn-key automation and test systems for client projects that included: Tesla Pressurize Field Test Machine; Toyota Tacoma Fan Shroud Pressure Tester; Toyota Tundra Center Console Machine; Toyota Tundra Dash Clip Robot Arm; GM Omega Airbag Cover Station; Audi Q5 Logo Staking Airbag Machine and Trim Staking Machine; Audi Modular Assembly Stations; and Bendix Automotive Black Box Test Fixture.

Worked with Vapor Way Company to create a unique line of vapor pens. Transitioned the company from a middleman supplier to the creation of a niche market that provided consumers with uniquely different yet interchangeable vapor pens.

Aided in the redesign of Ubertronix’s Strike Finder with modern electronics components and a Touch Screen interface. The new product resulted in strong customer demand reflected by a waiting list of customer orders while achieving a 300% increase in retail price.

Worked with technologies that included injection molding, product redesign, and brand management.

KINETIC CONCEPTS, San Antonio, Texas 3/11 – 11/13

Senior Product Designer – Contracted by the company to resolve design & production issues and led a team of Designers and Draftsmen.

Personally developed three medical devices that went into mass production within the first 12 months:

Power Drive Attachment System: Utilized data from multiple market sources to design a system that met requirements for approval and certification.

Enterprise Bariatric Bed: Lead Project Engineer who worked closely with inside and outside manufacturing resources and to create a product for mass production that met federal guidelines.

Proxymotion Patient Assist Lift: Designed, set up and trained assembly line workers on the critical steps in the assembly process for this new product.

Recognized as the CAD Guru and played a key role in formulating new product ideas, cost reduction solutions, resolution of design problems, hardware integration, and manufacturing techniques.

Created new high-end Down Light Housing fixtures that reduced the cost of manufacturing by 80% over the existing product.

Initiated multiple process improvements that:

Streamlined the production line and optimized the use of resources. Reduced assembly time as well as reducing software support.

Reduced redundant assembly line processes by sourcing pre-manufactured materials from vendors.
