Successful institutions compete within complex global regulatory and legislative frame. This requires a nuanced international government relations strategy, public policy, global communications, and marketing. I studied International Relations and Public Policy for my graduate degree and for my undergraduate degree studies Economics and management considering that both have major impacts on geopolitical realities.
The Master’s degree in International Relations & Public Policy emphasized National Security, and International Political Development. Areas of study also included International Economics, global trade, US Security, Nuclear policy and Risk Management. The Economics Honors program focused on Computer Science, Statistics, Investment analysis, and Corporate management. Institutional Management has been the common thread through my higher education, specifically corporate vision, goals, strategies, sustained growth, innovation, productivity, quality, and profitability in a competitive environment within a regulatory and legislative framework. I focused on developing skills to effectively manage financial, physical and human resources of the organization as well as the relations and advocacy with internal and external stake holders. Some subject areas of my research and professional expertise are- 1. Emerging Market Opportunities and Threats in South Asia. Expansion of South Asian consumer base and increase in discretionary income. Evolution and development of e-commerce market. Dynamic startups and innovation driven tech sector. Effect on the sharing economy of rising levels of urbanization. Importance of liberalization of FDI regulation. The need to navigate a complex South Asian legislative and regulatory framework. Further example of this includes my extensive travel in the region. 2. Potential for Expansion in MENA - Middle East & North Africa. The rapid growth in Middle Eastern defense and technology companies especially drones and defense infrastructure. Effect of global oil and energy related industrial investment strategies. Dynamic growth of African manufacturing potential and utilization of ecommerce in both retail and medical care. Evolution of African indigenous art, culture, and media landscape. 3. Managing International Government Relations. The objective is to create a winning profile of the organization and its products and services in front of the governments and legislators. Skills to lead advocacy campaigns in diverse social, cultural, political and regulatory environments. Special emphasis on tracking global policy evolution. Using tools including SEO, position papers, and public testimony. My experience as an Economic analyst at a Wall Street Research firm involved interactions with financial institutions and portfolio managers. I managed research with a wide range of clients. A part of my role was to suggest strategies for long range viability, profitability and growth. Utilized data driven decision processes to provide actionable advice on acquisitions and divestitures in financial sectors.
- Participated in Federal Reserve Challenge. Interacted with Fed officials on monetary policy. I also competed in the Global Forum Debate with Chinese nationals on state of the global economy.
