Directed Research Assistant, USC January, 2018 – Current
• Working in the NLP team for “Kashflow”, a money management application to keep track of the financial transactions and get offers from various financial institutions.
• Improved the F1 score of the CRF model by 8%, by implementing Stochastic Gradient Descent (SGD) with L2 regularization and Limited-memory Broyden-Fletcher-Goldfarb-Shanno (L-BFGS) method. Data Engineer Intern, Frenzy May, 2017 – August, 2017

• Co-led a team of four to automate course allotment to faculty based on their preference and experience.
• Improved the performance of the application by using a smart matching algorithm whose goal is to check the depth of experience, preference and match the results to the requirement. Server-side scripting using Facebook Graph API and Android App (Java, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, JSON, AJAX, Angular JS, jQuery, AWS, Facebook Graph API, Google Geocoding API, Android Studio)
• Developed a responsive website and an android app that allows users to search for information about a set of Facebook entities.
• Facebook Graph API and Google Geocoding API were used to retrieve the information and the website was hosted on AWS. Inverted Index for Project Gutenberg corpus using Hadoop Cluster on Google Cloud (Java, Google Cloud, Hadoop)
• Created an Inverted Index of words occurring in a collection of 3,036 English books acquires from Project Guteberg corpus.
• Performed Hadoop job on the buckets of Google Cloud storage containing these books. Cross-lingual Parts of Speech Tagger in Kannada using Telugu (Python)
• Developed cross language part of speech tagger using Hidden Markov models and Conditional random fields to model these and compared their performance.
