I moved to purchasing at Hain mainly concentrating on co-packers. I deal with Organic fruit and vegetable purees and packaging. Also sourcing new suppliers for current or new items.

Inventory levels based on planned production, both items sourced in the states and off-shore.

Dealing with multiple locations and warehouses for different co-packers.

Packaging for some of the co-packers, both East and West coast. Packaging lead-times range from short to up to 13 weeks.

Also involved with Marketing for new items. Brands of Earth’s Best and Ella’s Kitchen are my focus.

Production planning, Inventory control, shipping, raw material tracking were all part of this job. It was a

small company with growing pains. Ella’s Kitchen was sold to Hain, I moved to their office August

2013 in the Purchasing department.

Production planning for the co-packers, 3 separate locations at that time and out side warehouses in some cases.

Also involved in arranging shipment of finished good to distribution when released.

I was working as a substitute teacher for all grades until I found a position I was looking for.

Manager Production Planning

It gradually evolved to coordinating various co-packers schedules into a whole with the LiDestri requirements and managing ingredients and packaging requirements. We co-packed for Frito Lay, Hunt Wesson, Ortega, Barilla, Heinz and Newmans Own among others.

In the beginning, the schedule was a hand written document, then a word document, and prior to LiDestri going to an actual scheduling program I built and Access data base that coordinated all the information and when reported to Excel could calculate timing.

Involved in our software conversion to SBT from an older Legacy program.

Also involved in a conversion to a Production scheduling program from INFOR. The Production Planning department consisted of 10 members which were all coordinated by me.

This included building BOM’s and checking them. Many were multilevel. Each level had to be scheduled separately.

Another item was monitoring inventory levels for both raw materials and packaging.

As this was a growing facility, there were times co-packers requirements and our own exceeded line time available. At that point, it was work with the co-pack customers and make them all feel like they got what they needed and we could make the schedule fit.

At that time there were 3 lines running mostly 24/7 in Fairport and 1 in Fresno. We ran Kosher, organic and sometimes USDA product. All of these had specific scheduling requirements.

Also I was involved in the scheduling for our west coast plant.

Office Manager

I began by setting up the computer system for Freight Billing and Inventory Billing. I was hired to do the computer work. I later became Dispatcher and Office manager. I handled driver dispatch and locating backhauls for the drivers. I also was responsible for Accounts Payable and Payroll for the company. We had up to 10 Drivers and owner operators. I left as my husband was being transferred and we were supposed to be moving.

Office Manager

I was hired to do telemarketing for a Computer Supply company. This soon evolved into Office Manager as the owner was out of the office a significant amount of time. I was involved in setting up the computer system. We were a growing company formerly a Franchise of National Data Products and went independent. This involved setting invoicing and accounts payable. I handled scheduling for the owner for appointments, researching sources for components, supplies and getting estimates on custom forms. Also included was calling on past due invoices.
