The Hiring Manager,

ATR International

Dear Sir;

RE: Application for the position of Project Coordinator

I hereby submit my application for the vacancy advertised.

I have a Masters degree in Public Administration and Management and a Bachelors’ degree in Education, specializing in Literature and English Language Studies.

I am an Assistant Program Director with the Cooperative for Human Services in Lexington, MA. I also work as a Residential Assistant with the Guild for Human Services in Concord, MA.

Prior to this, I worked as the Head of Fundraising, Grants and Communications at Comprehensive Rehabilitation Services in Uganda (CoRSU Hospital). My roles included overseeing communication on project activities, tailoring messages for publications, social media, and website, liaising and communicating with donors and partners, updating the donor and partner data base, writing reports and success stories, organizing fundraising and communication events to raise funds and awareness of disability related issues, identifying funding opportunities, writing grant proposals, coordinating activities, writing and monitoring budgets. I was also the first point of contact for patient feedback and complaints.

I also worked as a Grants and Training Coordinator and Program Coordinator for the AIDS International Training and Research Program at Makerere University-Johns Hopkins University Research Collaboration (MU-JHU). I also worked as a Training Manager at Micro Insurance Agency, Kampala where I was also involved in general office management including procurement of office supplies and stationery and petty cash management.

I provided grants administration and research support for the International Extramural Associate Research Development Awards (IEARDA) and Research and Innovation Management (iRIM), a grant funded by the National Institutes of Health to build capacity in grants application and management in East and West Africa. I participated in organizing and facilitating a series of workshops conducted across different countries in sub-Saharan Africa and worked as an independent research consultant collecting baseline data and writing research reports.

I have experience in coordinating projects, providing administrative support for projects not limited to writing and monitoring budgets, writing reports and official communication as well as organizing meetings and events.

Given the opportunity, I can perform the relevant job roles effectively. I will be glad if my application meets your kind consideration.

Yours sincerely,

Sophia Nambi
